If I run the heating on full it definitely circulates and "dribbles" back into the top of the reservoir. So presume it is circulating ok.

Here's a pic of the return being full. Not sure how the system circulates, but the return being full seems odd
I've never noticed any fluid collecting near the return tube, then again I don't really open the bonnet/hood that often. I'll purposely check it a few times now after a drive.

Mine came on again today. It's annoying in that you can't see any other info on the dash display.
Not sure why the warning has to be so in your face, yes if it's a "danger, low coolant, stop driving" message then fair enough, but it isn't.
I assume the battery pack and motor temperature is monitored independently of the coolant temp (must be as the coolant presumably does the cabin heating too), so even if there was no coolant in it I presume there wouldn't be any risk of damage?
Unlike an old ice I had years ago where if your engine loses all its coolant then the engine doesn't warn you of the high temperature until it's too late! Warped cylinder head in my case!

They are describing it as a service warranty issue, I think it’s only if the error occurs that it is officially done but some on here seem to be getting the procedure regardless of warning messages.
I have a 2021 Ioniq 38 and only found out about the recall after watching a YouTube video from Go Green Autos that was posted on 12th April 2023. I called Hyundai dealer today to see if my car was on the recall list and they confirmed it was. Now booked in for coolant flush but not sure why I hadn't been informed of the recall. I've not had the warning icon on the dash yet. Recommend subscribing to Go Green Autos for lots of useful information on EVs. Matt knows his stuff.

It's not a recall as such but a campaign.so as and when the vehicle came to a dealer for service etc the work would then be done normally. Safety related recalls, you would be informed of.

Anybody in the US have the work done under a campaign with the special tool?
I have an appt to bring my Ioniq 38 in with an intermittent light.
My dealer in Northern NJ does not see any campaign no. 10DC41, but now, they did mention that they've been doing "refill coolant" light work, lately, like it just came up.
From this thread, it seems like there is no fix or is there?

I am dropping my car off after hours tomorrow for a Friday appointment. Repeat refill coolant lights, and coolant below MIN line. Like you, I can't stand the condescension and bewilderment of the service writers at Paramus every time I ask a qustion or ask for details.

I had every intention of buying this car out for a stupid low price of $18K, but this has thrown a wrench into my plans.

I take it you saw this:

Update: got the error again last night, then again this morning and just called the dealer. They said they would call Hyundai and get back to me later today.
I think I forgot to update on this. They got my car in again at the beginning of February. Apparently, they saw that the pump for the battery pack was running too slow, so that got changed with a new and then it seems they changed the fluid again.

I got my car back on February 13 and it hasn't shown any error since 🤞

Is the pump for battery pack cooling in the hv battery or is it outside, somewhere more accessible?
Can't hurt to suggest that they take a look at that when I take it in tomorrow.

Thanks for the video, I hadn't seen it.

The warning on mine seems to have stopped for now, not seen it at all week so far
I did think at first it was triggering after the heating / Aircon was used as I hadn't used it at the start of the week, but had heating on last few days and still no warning.

I picked the car up today (same day). Same dealer shannigans. Car dropped off at 7:00AM for 9:45AM appointment.
I spoke to advisor at 10AM.
I texted at 1:30PM.
"Hey what's the status of the car".
Text back "Technician is still trying to figure out the coolant issue"
Two minutes later I get a panic alert from the car on my phone. Mechanics will activate the panic alarm function to find it in a parking lot full of Hyundai's.
I quickly used my app to locate it via GPS and sure enough the car was outside in the lot and not in the mechanic's bay. Ten minutes later it moved to the shop.

Two hours later I get a message that the car is ready. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do the pickup and sent my wife.
The bill says "perform coolant bleed procedure with scanner"... I've only heard the term "bleed" used in the context of bleeding brakes, not cooling systems. I don't know if they performed the service according to instructions of the campaign. I though about asking the tech for more detail, but the service writers are condescending and gatekeepers.

Bleed doesn't sound like flush and fill. If the message comes back on, I will absolutely update the group.

My service today, went differently. I dropped the car off yesterday at 7:50 am and had to rent a car because they don't have loaners. Yesterday afternoon I called to find out the status and they told me the car was up in the bay. When I got home there was a message on my answering machine (oh, for God's sake) time 1:30 in the afternoon asking me to call them. Called this morning to ask what that was about and nobody knew.

This afternoon, I called to see what was up and they said the coolant had crystallization and the "water pump" was bad.
"Covered under warranty" it seems, because yesterday, they weren't sure. Ha ha.
Yesterday, I called HyundaiUSA to open a case. Tonight with the case no. I put in a summary of events online and uploaded a picture of the refill coolant light on.

Nobody knows whether they have the special tool.

Hyundai USA, yesterday, had a wait time of 45 minutes, but the updates as time passed seemed to move along much quicker than that. Not too bad.

I wonder if I can ask them for the old part if it's a warranty repair.

Anyway, when the repair is finished I'll report back.

Mine was dropped off at 8am, then the bluelink ap notified me of bonnet open at 12.45-4pm. so at least something was being done in that time. No mention of any issues doing the campaign or software updates. Free courtesy car for me to use also. That's not normal at the garages round here. Usually they charge ÂŁ20 a day . First time I've taken a car to a garage for repair/service in 43 years ( I normally do the maintenance on mine and family cars)
