Anyone knows if there is a busy period or not at Tilbury? Car arrived on the 17th there, and i have been pestering Perrys since.
As of yesterday, its still undergoing its checks, and they dont know when they can get it from the docks.

Anybody else that had their car on Asian Captain and got it already?
Hi Shiptzi
Mine was on the same boat, contacted Hyundai UK via twitter for updates when it was at Tilbury, now its been delivered to Johnson's Fleet today for delivery next week, so a month after it arrived at port.

Car just turned up today rather than tomorrow, the guy was staying at the services over night to deliver to me in the morning. Spoke earlier and he offered to bring it today. Don't have many first impressions apart from it looks Fantastic. Will have a proper look but it's chucking it down with rain at the moment. For those asking about Tilbury to doorstop time was pretty much exactly a month.

Hi Danger Mouse, did you get yours yet? apparently mine is still undergoing checks... chased Perrys this morning, and they said they need to chase some more with Tilbury on their end. Starting to think they are just delaying me and doing nothing in the background.

Hi Shpitzi, Was told that the car would be delivered this week to me, but after a few emails to Johnson's fleet, they finally told me that the car had been delivered to the wrong depot( a likely story though):cautious:. They will let me know when they can get the car and do the checks, but I am looking realistically the end of the month for me to get my hands on it, but who knows..Resistance is futile, so just going with the flow now.

Soo....just got word from Perrys, they wont get the car till September because they did not requested it in time. The car that has been in port for a month now, they wont get it out till september, min 6 weeks after it arrived. have to love this. then they still have to do their own checks and delivery. Figured they would be making money the sooner it arrives rather than later.

my fault for getting so excited about it comming sooner.

New update:
Perry just emailed me confirming they will be getting the car in tomorrow, Sat 19th, after 1month in the docks. and will ring me for delivery mid to end of next week.

Offered to come collect it myself. Lets hope i can collect, and dont have to wait for delivery for more weeks.

Final update from me. Got the car yesterday. Man it feels waaay bigger than my Volvo S60. Love the car. put already 120miles on it, just test driving. Seats arent as good as the volvos, but not far off either.

Love the car. good luck to all still awaiting. it is worth it

That's great news that your car arrived a day earlier than expected! It must have been a pleasant surprise. Despite the rainy weather, I'm glad to hear your first impression is positive – it's always exciting to see a new vehicle, especially if it looks fantastic.

Regarding the Tilbury to doorstop time of approximately a month, it's good to have that information for those who might be curious about the shipping timeline. Thanks for sharing your update!

Does anyone know rough shipping times to the UK? I was under the impression that it was c. 4-6 weeks.

Mine's been in transit for almost 8 weeks, with expected delivery pushed back two months/

Seems like everybody is having fun and games with Lex, i ordered mine through them (salary sacrifice / fleet provider) changing over to a company car and the order was finally placed on the 11th October 2021 being told it would be a January delivery.

After spending every other week being told it was delayed two weeks I finally got a more realistic answer when sending a snotty email and was then advised the 29th July when updated on 28th March, i asked for an update on the 10th May and was told the date shown is still the 29th July but I don't really believe them.

Reading these forums has prompted me to contact them for the dealership information so i can contact them directly but i am sceptical to say the least! I just can't fathom how they can all get away with blatantly lying about dates when they fully know they had absolutely no chance of achieving the original dates given!
Just wondering how your car was delivered by Lex auto lease. I’m considering getting Ionic 5 from them, also salary sacrifice, do they drive the car to you or on trailer? Was there an option to collect. As much as I won’t own the car, I don’t actually like the idea of it being driven how ever many miles to me!

Mine came from Lex, it was delivered on a trailer by the dealer (Perry's). I tried to arrange to collect it myself from Perry's in Luton, but it turned out that the fleet cars don't go to their Hyundai dealer, but instead to a compound up north (can't remember where), which was too far from me (in Devon)! Perry's were generally quite helpful though. I can't remember exactly but I think the car had 10 ish miles on the clock when I received it.
