i have an Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order and it is in port. i, too, need a 2" receiver hitch and can't find anything. i am contemplating building a proto-type similar to the original unit that came on my 06 Dodge Magnum. this unit mounted on the frame rails but had the receiver completely hidden and pointing down. from there an L shaped receiver presented a 2" receiver in the traditional setup. the issue with the Ionic might be ground clearance for this type on unit. it might be hard to visualize but it worked and i towed a 24' sailboat and a 17' travel trailer.

PM me and I’ll give you the names of two hitch outfits in Burnaby that have 2” hitches for Ioniq 5

The Hyundai hitch is now available in the US. Hopefully it will be soon in Canada

Part number : gif61au000

More competition. More expensive, but doesn't require cutting into the visible part of the bumper.

(3) Stealth Hitches Ioniq 5 hitch. Details in comments below. : Ioniq5 (reddit.com)

Hyundai Palisade Hitch | The Hitch Made to be Hidden | Stealth Hitches ~ (This is for Palisade, I5 is coming soon, but pricing seems similar for their other cars as well) $568 hitch/receiver only or $867 for hitch and towing bar/ball/electrical harness

I wonder why hyundai didn’t go with this type of design. I would think that the majority of potential customers would prefer not to cut in to the visible post on the bumper. (I would prefer not to cut in to the bumper at all; they didn’t have to with my Model 3)

Maybe this has been answered, but when the hitch is in use the bumper is removed, and only when the hitch is not in use, the bumper is placed back on? I don’t know if I like the look of that.

So what is the consensus on the best hitch option? Stealth hitch vs. Factory vs ecohitch? I'm in the US.
Just my personal 2 cents... best for the I5 would be the Stealth hitch as it is truly Stealth. I have it on my XC60. I would use the factory harness if electrics are needed. After that it's a bit of a crap-shoot. Myself, I'm going with Hyundai hitch and if I don't like it for some reason I will change it later.
By then I will at least know if using the I5 as a TowVehicle makes any sense for me.

Ecohitch? Do you have any more info about it? Link? As for me, I am looking for the most budget friendly for I will only using it to carry my mountain bikes

I really think the stealth will sit lower and have strikes with pavement. The cut into the bumper is so small with Torklift & OEM hitches that it’s not a big deal.
Yeah maybe. I'd like to see it. I really only need one for a bike rack if I go with more than just myself. Or if I go surfing with someone else. I will throw the bikes on the rack, boards in the car.

On my Ford cmax I use a hitch vault to hide my key while surfing.

Once you have the hitch installed can you post pictures and height from bottom of receiver to the ground? I am curious how low the receiver will sit.
As requested, a few pictures of the 2" hitch receiver as installed by SRG. The ground clearance is about 20 cm (7.87")

So it looks like there is a small cut into the bottom of the silver bumper cover for the 2" SRG as compared to the 1 1/4" that does not require that small cut?

Just FYI from anyone else the SRG seems to align in terms of ground clearance with the Stealth Hitch option coming out. The guy on reddit who got the original install (Stealth needed a local car to come up with the design) said the 2 inch square connecter clearance was 7 1/2 inches and the towing connector has a 8 1/2 inch clearance.

I can confirm there is a small cutout of the bumper with the 2" SRG; can't say about the 1 1/4" one.

So it’s not an issue?
“Hyundai is calling the Ioniq 5 an “electric SUV,” but its ground clearance of 6.1 inches(less than some cars) and its EPA classification as a car (a Large Car) tells us otherwise—in all except its seating position (H-point), which feels too high relative to the rest of the design.”

Hmm, was about to pull the trigger on the SRG and then read plutoz comment here. I looked at the different solution mounts and agree that this is a bit of a concern. Just not sure how much of a concern this should be. Any thoughts/insights from those who have installed the SRG so far, or are familiar with the different mounts?
