He called me today and confirmed 2", free hitch and install. He is looking to schedule someone next week (takes about a week)

I hope to own an Ioniq 5 in the next few months. But I want to make sure I can attach my Rocky Mounts bike rack on the car. It uses a 2” receiver to mount to the back. Does anyone know if there is a receiver type hitch for this car?
Hello, I live in the Netherlands and on March 19, 2022 I will receive my Ioniq 5. When I bought it, I could immediately order a detachable towbar. Order number in NL = G1281ADE00 and the matching cable set has order number G1621ADE00PC

If you're willing to make the trip to Trois-Rivières, QC, I was quoted CAD$345 (USD$272 as of right now) for the 2" hitch and installation. I have an appointment for April 1 when I'll be in the area anyway, so two birds with one stone for me.

Installation time is 2 hours.

Wonder if they would at least ship to Vancouver? That might be a little more manageable...

They do ship Canada-wide, or so the website says, but I assume the shipping charges will be hefty since it's a big chunk of steel.
Shipping to Vancouver area is $79.00. Hope to receive mine this week. Not sure if/when I'm going to install it. Hoping that Hyundai will come up with a good one but if not at least I have a spare :D

Once you have the hitch installed can you post pictures and height from bottom of receiver to the ground? I am curious how low the receiver will sit.

I reached out to Hyundai customer care directly and got the following response:

Hyundai Customer Care Center is unable to provide information regarding parts availability as we do not have information regarding parts delivery or shipments. We recommend that you continue to work with your local Hyundai dealership, as they are the only ones that can get the parts you are requesting. We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience this may have caused.

Stealth Hitches makes cool hidden hitches, but nothing for our car... Maybe everyone from this forum can request and show high demand to make it on this list ;):

I reached out to Stealth and they told me that the Ionic 5 is on their development list, but they cannot locate a car to work on the design. The person I spoke to said that if I know of anyone in the Atlanta area that is willing to lend them their car, they could complete the design. Not sure how long they would need your car, and I'm willing to guess that you could work out a discount on a hitch if you let them borrow your car. The address for their R&D center is 4580 COMMERCE PKWY, SUGAR HILL, GA 30518

I contacted their customer service and asked regarding the capacity of specifically the Class 2 hitch. Here is the reply:

"In the vehicle book, the towing capacity is 1500 pounds so….class 1 hitch only"
I believe the book says 2000 lbs for trailer with brakes with 220 lbs of vertical load on the coupling device.
I have SRG's 2 inch, class 3, but am waiting to see what Hyundai comes up with before installing. Hoping to stay with Hyundai but planning to go camping this year by hook or by crook :)

Oops, that was a typo, I emailed regarding the class 3 hitch. Item number 20085.

I'm slightly concerned at their response. Do you think it means they only engineered it to handle 1500 lbs?
Specs on their website for the Class3:
  • Gross towing weight: 3500-5000** lb
  • Tongue weight: 350-500** lb
  • Trailer hitch size: 2" x 2"
Does not mean one can or should override Hyundai's specs based on that though ;)

In Europe tow capacity is higher so my thinking is that the vehicle is capable and as long as the hitch is built for it as well, there will be a safety margin.
Typical cover thy butt limitation for NA.

BTW, I realize the thread is for Bike Rack in particular but I believe we're all in the same boat, simply needing/wanting a hitch :)

I just received the hitch from www.srgattacheremorque.com today and it looks good. i will take some pictures or maybe even do a video of the install as i go through either this weekend or next.
this looks to be a good option for Canadians as I gather that they have no easy way to ship outside Canada. it was $320 delivered to BC
