Jetson, you did your own mod? Elaborate?

I have a 2WD, I'm seriously thinking of hacking the bottom of of my existing useless frunk and attaching a rubbermaid bin to it. The 4wd mini frunk is beyond useless.

The idea of just installing a storage tote like the person who shared their video of doing so on Youtube is appealing but my spouse isn't into the idea of something hacky. The issue with shipping is these apparently come packed bulkily and so unless you had someone on the Korea end willing to repack several into one box, sharing the shipping cost by shipping in bulk isn't helpful; if I had someone to repack for me I'd consider doing that, and I hope, honestly, that someone else does and that I can get in on it! 😅

Oh, the video of the person who installed the storage tote:

I brought rear tailgate assembly part from Korea and almost gave up because of size restrictions.
Also too expensive to ship. Korean postal service did not allowed to ship big items by vessels and UPS or FedEx was only option but their rates are super expensive.

“Flout the safety laws”?? When the law is this stupid and ridiculous, yes, obviously.
Thanks for that, I'm assuming you are the one that is going to be paying any fines and/or criminal sentences for people following your advice?

Anyone that takes advice from an on-line forum, from a total stranger. that is directly counter to their own best inclinations, without consulting an actual expert, is a fool.*

This is, BTW, why every time I describe something that I specifically did that might be counter to any type of safety regulation (like make an EVSE cable power adapter, for example), yet (in my estimation) is safe, I always close with something like:

"YMMV. Doing any of the above can result in injury or death, and is done at your own risk."

This tells them "It's on you, I'm just providing a data point to help make your own decision".

*With no offense to dcoger.

Don’t know it this helps anyone (or if it’s in this thread. Alt part number

Hey all!

Limited RWD in California. I've been searching for the deep frunk for a bit. PN 86710-GI000 is the part number others have shared, only available new from Korea for $700+ shipped.

That price was a bit much for me, but I found an alternate part number that seems to be more widely available. PN 86712-GI000. I purchased this on eBay for $420 including shipping for a used part.

It arrived today. Fits perfectly! The light plugs right into my vehicles harness as well. Had to source bolts for the two holes at the bottom, but everything else was easy peasy.

Able to fit much more junk in this frunk now!
