Had the 4yr service and they did acquiesce to not do the prescribed coolant change. They did say that Hyundai would consider the Log book Service not done but then the log book was signed off anyway. Cost was taken off so $160 was all it was.
9mm left on the brakes so they'll probably outlive the car.
4mm on original tyres so a bit to go on them too.
They did say the motor noise was present and will be looking into that next week but I'll update my original thread with that.

My campaign 20D140 service was done yesterday. Since the previous service above only lasted a few days before the message returned. We will see if it returns again after this.
I did notice that on the previous service in June they used UM022-CH270 Coolant.... and this service yesterday in the campaign they used 00232-19113 coolant for what its worth and used the new flushing machine.
Any luck losing the light? We just took it into Abbotsford for the second time. Apparently they just diagnosed it and think it's the water pump so they are going to call me this week and let me know if that's covered or not.

Mine had the pump replaced with flushes and new coolant back in February. No light so far and I commute 100km four days a week đź’Ş

The video from the service bulletin is now online.
I couldn't post the full link it's on vimeo /825335870/9b6a196953
Or go to the pdf from Sasha T.C. in post #527

The first time the refill coolant warning came up was in October 2021(Approximately 42,000kms), it would come up regularly and in November the dealer serviced my vehicle but couldn't replicate the fault and asked me to keep an eye on it.
The battery was replaced in December 2021 (47,000kms) - So it's unrelated to the issue.
The second time the refill coolant warning started appearing was in January 2022 (49,000kms), the dealer carried out an 'electronic flush' which cleared the fault
The third time the refill coolant warning started appearing was April 2022 (50,000kms), again the dealer flushed the system and said they had now put in a new special coolant under technical advice from Hyundai
The fourth time the refill coolant warning started appearing was May 2022 (54,000kms), I started insisting the Hyundai replace the vehicle or refund my money, I was forced to return the vehicle for them to attempt to rectify this issue, In August 2022 under technical advice from Hyundai they 'triple flushed the coolant system with hot and cold water'.
The fifth time the refill coolant warning started appearing was just now in September 2022 (60,000kms). The dealer is reporting the issue to Hyundai and looking for technical direction.

Hyundai Australia say the fault is isolated to my vehicle, which clearly it isn't. They also say that each time the dealer has been able to rectify the issue as the fault does not return immediately, so in Hyundai's eyes it's deemed as being repaired.

I'm told the pump rpm is what the car uses to detect the low coolant and when it exceeds a certain value (I believe to be 2,500rpm) it triggers the warning. The car has also had the pumps replaced and several hoses which as per above has not resolved the issue.

I've noticed that the first time the fault appears the vehicle ambient temperature is 21C, the fault starts with an occasional appearance resetting when the car has been off for a long period but it steadily gets worse until it appears every day. For me the fault usually only appears on the second occasion I use the car each day, but then will stay on for the remainder of that day.

I'm now lodging a complaint to Fair Trading in Australia as clearly the vehicle has an issue that cannot be rectified. If you have the same issue with your Ioniq, please get in touch so we can arrange a class action and get this sorted out.
How did you go? I've had to task mine in for 4 different times, each about a week. Everytime they say' theyve flushed it multiple times and resolved it. Sometimes it comes back after a week, somwtimes anfter a few months. It's been going on and off again for the past few weeks, I don't know what to do because it's so inconvenient to lose the car for a week, especially seeing as it's randimly going on and off, so how can they tell if it's fixed? I'm worried it is going to keep happening and it will be out of warranty and still won't be fixed! It's a 2019 - and has been happening since september 2020 :(

Did your service department do the campaign 20D140 with the prescribed equipment in the TSB? This was only available since earlier this year.
Mine was only in for a day to do the flush.

It might be time to start mentioning Australian Consumer laws that defects be fixed in a timely fashion otherwise you can claim a refund or replacement (kind of hard for a discontinued model). A refund will not be full price as you've had the car 4 years.

I used to get the low coolant warning every day - They replaced the coolant with the low conductivity coolant and haven’t seen any warning for the past week. So hopefully that’s all fixed and I never have to talk to them again about it. Not having the big orange dash console warning and the warning pings all the time was a bit weird initially, I had gotten so used to them.

I'll be honest..... the light came back on one day within a week of the campaign service... It went away on next start but came back on a couple times after that for my wife.... since then however I have not seen it in awhile.... So maybe some hiccups? But i'd say the last month has been clean.

When I went in, the service person said the campaign bulletin stated that in some instances they have to replace the water pump, so that may be the case for Lenerdosy. Thankfully they didn’t need to do this on mine - they just did the flush with low conductivity fluid - and am now 5 days in within a warning so taking this as a promising sign. And everything was covered as a defect repair, Ioniqs were definitely on the list.

Hi Sarah
I too have had a new battery, new coolant pumps, new battery, 8 (I think) flushes and a new radiator fitted. This procedure with a flush and new coolant lasted a week before the "Refill coolant" warning returned. I see no other option but to contact Fair Trading Australia as I live in Brisbane and initiate proceedings to retrieve the original purchase price of the vehicle as it is clearly not fit for purpose. It would be unethical to sell the vehicle to an unsuspecting buyer and I can't imagine anyone would knowingly take on a vehicle with such a world-wide recurring problem. If there is anyone in Australia and in particular Queensland who has the same problem I'd be happy to communicate with you to achieve a satisfactory outcome. Cheers Joey2022
What would be the need for the HV battery replacement? What is the indication (besides the obvious that the battery doesn't retain charge or the range is severely lower)? In researching the issue with the "low coolant" error, I keep coming across people mentioning the TSB about battery replacement. Is it that after following the TSB on flushing and replacing the coolant, THEN there are new issues that come up causing the battery to fail? Or is it that after trying to clear the "low coolant" error, and after repeated attempts to flush and replace coolant, then they move on to the broader system and replace more part (ie. Battery, radiator, pumps, etc.)?

Just to let you know guys, I hit the 60k kms mark and that means a fairly big and expensive service (changing the coolant among other stuff), last time I was told that it would cost some 500-700 euros
Since I had the "refill" TSB done in February this year, I asked to omit this step as the coolant is some 8 months old. They had no problem with that and so the whole service cost me some 300 Euros which isn't that bad.
Hope that helps.

Also, the 30D042 campaign on 38kWh e-call (possible battery drain) was done during the service. Luckily I haven't experienced flat 12V battery since I bought the car 2,5 years ago and I really hope it stays like that.

I have the "use traction battery to charge 12V battery" option in the car settings checked and I also quite frequently use the utility mode that uses traction battery to power the car's electric devices instead of 12V battery when parked.

Hi,

I'm buying an Ioniq 38kW to replace my Zoe 40 and after checking under the bonnet I found the coolant to be below the MIN mark. When I test drove the car it did not display any warnings.
The seller just sent me a screenshot from Hyundai's service showing the coolant had been changed back in August 30th.

Is it normal to be below MIN so shortly after replacing the coolant?

Thanks!

Hello,

Totally normal. When the coolant is changed it's possible that air gets trapped inside the circuit. After driving for a while the air will come out in the reservoir and the coolant level will get lower.

Thanks for the reply.
I've asked the dealership for a price on the BSC-2 coolant to top up the reservoir.
Still waiting on their reply.
I've bought the car 130km from my home, driving those 130km with the coolant below MIN (not much) might cause damage to any component?
