I have received differing opinions on the effect of moving wheel positions has when fitted with TPMS. Several tyre dealers have stated that the system will not self learn the new wheel positions and will therefore show incorrect display information, others do not forsee a problem. My Hyundai dealer "does not know" because they never rotate tyres and do not carry out tyre services contracting them out.
There does seem to be a movement against tyre rotation in the UK on the advice of some manufacturers and retailers. Personal experience with company cars on tyre maintenance contacts was that the least worn tyres must always be on the rear to minimise the risk of oversteer which was considered a greater safety risk than understeer if the front broke away.
