I bought mine two weeks ago and got the tire repair kit.

 

The kit which came with my purchase in Aug 2023 was missing a part. The kit looked used to me. In Feb the dealer finally sent me a new kit which has a plastic fitting on the top of the canister. One source wrote that it was supposed to come with a tube to connect the canister to the tire.
Given filling a tire w/ this material destroys it, there should be a spare tire & kit with this car and room made to store it.

That is a new one to me, where have you seen any evidence that the 'tire slime' (or what ever version they include in the kit) destroys the tire? Tire sealants have been around for decades and I have not heard of them damaging tires. They just make a proper plug and patch a pain for the tire tech as it has to be cleaned out (a messy job). Honestly if you ever have to use one of these kits when you take the tire in for an actual repair be sure to tip the kid that has to clean it out.

 

Tires with insulation foam will need to have foam removed if goo was used. And many shops don't want hassle with customer coming back and complaining about elevated noise after patch was done. Any tire that has foam insulation inside, temporary fix should not be used that come with the vehicle, unless you have no problem replacing entire tire if used. Going with aftermarket spare tire kit would be better solution. Manufacturers are forced to eliminate extra weight to improve fleet efficiency and this is precisely how loopholes are made when government forces EPA numbers down to the Manufacturers. My 2014 Audi A6 has full spare tire and wheel exactly same aluminum wheel and tire in the trunk.
