Great (y)
Many thanks.
@SonicSpinner - unfortunately that software update (
KIA_2021_1_Niro_rio_soul_SOP_010_6_210111.zip
) doesn't appear to work, people who tried it say it gives an error message. The download contains a single folder when unzipped (CAVNEU_K) and this contains a single file (upgrade.lgk).
Is this correct, shouldn't there be other files as well?

I've done some experimenting with my e-Niro FE and it appears to expect a CAVNEU_VR folder, not a CAVNEU_K folder. This seems to be consistent with the "Standard-class Gen5 Naviagation" cars.

I can't find another EV that seems to use that type of head unit and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to try a non-EV's files, such as the 2018 Sportage.

Thanks! Out of curiosity, what car model is that from? Or is there some generic source that includes everything?
This is supposedly be for ceed and sportage.
But some niro also used K folder. The dealers gets a software package 2-3 times a year for all kia 8" in 1 package. This contains folders _K _vr k2 _um etc etc.
The good thing is the car not update the wrong software. It checks for compatibility before upgrading. In reality you can place all these folders in 1 SD card and it will be kind of universal updater for kia cars hehe

Perfect, thank you! I'm going to give it a go 🤞

Plead let me know.
The Kia updates is so damn confusing compares to huyndai hehe
So, with all the files I've downloaded and extracted, I managed to get my folders mixed up and updated my car using the CAVNEU_VR folder that I'd downloaded using the Kia Updater app instead of yours. 🤦‍♂️

The files you provided (which contain a version file that reads 019.90.90) and the files the updater provided (where the version file reads 019.90.94) are almost identical - I guess mine was just slightly later.

Either way, it seems to have worked and my e-Niro FE now reports Software DE_EV.EUR.SOP.011.1.210311.STD_M & Firmware DE_EV.EUR.0.5.419.210104.MICOM.

About the only difference I can find so far, vs my old 2019 software, is the new Sounds of Nature feature. Oh, and the radio screen feels slightly different.

I'm still waiting for the map data files to copy to the SD card before I can test those out.

Good job. So which car did you choose from tvet updater tool

Maps work. đź’Ş

Also (although it's possible it did this before, but I don't think so) the Live Charging info seems to be much more comprehensive now, even telling you if chargers are in use for some networks.

2018 Sportage. (I reckon any model with "Standard-class Gen5 Navigation" would work)

Oh, I neglected to thank you, so... Thank you. Your efforts and files, via Devon Dumpling, have helped several owners over on the e-Niro UK Interest Group on facebook get their cars updated in the past, and we FE owners have been waiting quite a while for a new update, so this is great. Your help has been very useful.

One small concern I have at the moment is that the DAB radio seems to have no signal when I turn the car on, and I have to change station to get it back. I'm going to keep an eye on that - it could just have been a glitch.

Np buddy
Ok. Interesting with the dab. Try the rest hole. Or wait and see tomorrow.

Hi, I took my car for its 2nd year service today (my first time taking the car) and asked if they did a software update. The service desk guy said they will do it if it's necessary. I didn't check before leaving and couldn't hang about. It looks like very old software, can any one confirm what is recommended to be updated by looking at my photo please? Many thanks

Yup. Another UK dealer lying to their customer. Sorry to say that buddy, but your software is very very old. You can see by the software dage 190425. Means it's from 2019. There has been at least 4-5 updates to the Navi since.
You can tell the dealer that he should get another job, maybe at wendys pr somethig, coz he most definetly don't know anything about his current job. Lol.

You have 2 options.

1. Tell them to do their job and update your navi. Alot of stuff has happend since your version. New ui, New navi, New map, New options and better featureset. And tell them to look at the official hyundai page

2. Or skip all the argument back n forth and update your self. Links are allready posted for the latest August version

Hi Sonic, to update my car, are there numerous files I need, or is it all in one package?
Bit annoyed they didn't update it to be honest, especially as it costs an arm and a leg to carry out. They also didn't wash or vacuum the car, which normally wouldn't bother me but it says it's part of the package

Honestly I feel bad for you. They really are incomptent ass*****. You should go back to them and complaint.
The update is 1 zip file. Download it and extract the content to a root of a fat32 formatted usb drive.
Then turn on the car, put it into parking, plug in USB in the front port. And choose yes to update, and choose quick update. 35 Mins later you are done

Brilliant, thanks Sonic. Is this the correct software for my UK facelift HEV?

Seems like i'll try it myself rather than an hours round trip to the dealership
