Has anyone successfully managed to enter engineering mode on the Ioniq 5? The usual tricks to enter it don't appear to work on this model.
nope. we have been trying also. the problem is with doing the dealer mdoe / engineering mode, with the volume lvl trick 7-3-1 , is that we need to confirm with the right knob. and ioniq 5 doesnt have right knob.Has anyone successfully managed to enter engineering mode on the Ioniq 5? Haven't tried. I will ask some ioniq 5 users to tryDoes the 7-3-1 not work when touching the screen to the right of the "update" button in settings like in the 2020 Ioniq that doesnt have the right nob?
The ioniq 5 touch press must be placed somewhere else I guess. I guess tmots trial and errorHave just tried this without success. The layout of the text is slightly different to the above although the update button is the same position
Did you manage to get in the ioniq5 engineering menu?To get out of engineering mode it may ask you to press another non-existent button...
It's like going into the control panel of a windows machineSo let's say one manages to enter "engineering mode". Then what? Just curious. Sounds dangerous and fun!
HahaNo, just joking that getting out again might not be obvious given the difficulty of getting in.
Can you post a picture? Also I wonder if it's different from Linux based units too. It's on the title bar (i.e. the one where it says "Software Version") for newer cars without a right knob
Well done!@SonicSpinner I get a password popup, using this recipe:
Dealer Mode (Diagnostics, Location, Media, Radio, Smart Pure Air Version Info/Update)
In the IONIQ 5 the "right knob" is the up/down lever, which can also be pressed (beside the tune text). However password 2400 is not recognized, also not 2900.
- Press the Setup button or choose All menus -> Settings
- Choose System Info
- In a quick sequence set volume using left knob to level 0, then to level 7 and press the right knob, then set volume to level 3 and press the right knob, then set volume to level 1 and press the right knob
- Password is 2400
- Choose Send

I might have gotten it wrong try 0652 instead of 0625@SonicSpinner I tried those, and also tried the passwords in this post. No luck, also not with the 24 hour time as password.
Dammit. They must have changed it on the August version. Coz in the July version, the 0625 worked on kia ev6No luck with 0652, last 4 digits software version, 1200-2400![]()
Aaargh. That's frustrating@SonicSpinner I have your 210723 version and 0625 and 0652 is not working. Also the time as password I tried. I did not try the date (18 October), e.g. 1810 or 1018.
Been there done that mate.Considering the update dump does not seem to be encrypted, which is at least a start, maybe the code and the logic can be found.
At 26GB, you are going to need to study the structure a lot to find it though, and some parts might be encrypted anyway.
Wait i didn't get it. Can you please record a video. ThanxI'm in now...thanks! In RHD car the buttons are reversed, and you press the up/down button in following selecting the volume. 7-3-1
The pass code 0428 worked for me. View attachment 36249
Good job!I made a short video for anyone struggling, was kinda hard filming with one hand and using my second currently somewhat broken hand, but here we go:
ok thanx buddy. i suspect the same options as in the dealer mode in ioniq 38,8 etc.Screw it, went and looked. There's only one entry:
Secure Console: enable

The MFG Firmware status:unloaded FTM: stopped, tells my guts that they deactivated it for now, fits the rumours that they have a software issue at the moment (what ever FTM and MFG stands for)
At least the wifi modul has a mac address, gives me hope
