So I got some time yesterday to really drive around with the steering wheel cover and get a feel for it. It makes all of my secondary hand locations more comfortable and I like how it makes the little clusters feel. They have more of a button feel now when pressing them. Loving it!!!

@kuskye25 I'm curious - how is your subwoofer holding up? Any issues with fuses or getting power from the 12v accessory in the trunk?
It's still going strong. But again, the amp wiring was the same or smaller gauge then the accessory port that I used. Hence why I didn't go with an over-powered system like in some of my other vehicles.

I get this question a lot in PM's, usually 1 every week or so. So, I will reiterate again. "How is the sub working after a year, and how do I install it, and where do I buy the stuff to do it?"

IMO one of the best mods you can do to this car and the factory non-bose system "I rate it as the third fav mod ive done". First fav mod "RIMS/Tires", Second Fav "Front lip and rear spoiler"

Hyundai Ioniq 5: Electric Car Sub & Amp Install - YouTube

Links are in the description. This thing still works like the day I installed it. Great bass range and often for $200 gets said to be better than the next guys $400 to $1000 sub/amp system. Cleaner, crisper, clearer. Just a downright good upgrade. Anyone that hears it is impressed from average joes to people that know car audio. It'll surprise ya.

I've put a system in every car I've owned since 1995, first car Datson 280z (y). And currently it's not my only system here in 2024 haha, I have 2x12 MTX's with 500w rms in my genesis. And a 15" kicker 600w rms in my v8 explorer. I'm no stranger to amps/speakers haha just for some backround. Nothing super high end though.

Just wanted to follow up and say I did the subwoofer install with the exact same items and method in this thread and the results are great! The bass adds so much to the sound that I'm considering not upgrading the door speakers but we'll see. Just wanted to reassure others that this is pretty easy to do and worth it.

Haha H3ll ya man!! Glad someone here did this mod and posted results. Many here doubt it and spend a ton on installing a new amp and replacing all the speakers. Not to mention all the work associated with that. This mod I did and now you did is far superior to wasting all that money and work. I have personally compared it to a bose system Ioniq 5 that replaced all the speakers, the stock sub in the trunk, and the expensive stock central amp.

Mine is the SE so it doesn't have the bose speakers and i guess im glad, the SE speakers are actually decent.

This setup sounds so much nicer by leaps and bounds over a fully upgraded bose system. And is like $180, and installed in minutes not hours, lol....

Hmm guess I got this a while ago. It's been kicking for well over a year now. Here is the original invoice. Doesn't look like its sold-on amazon directly anymore sadly. But any 150w RMS 12" sub/amp/box combo would work for this exact install. Don't let the description fool you, it's a 150rms sub and amp lol. 1300 would blow this thing into a fireball haha.
