I am thinking the wallbox will be a good choice. It is compact enough to take with you and you can adjust the amperage. I can have 40 amps at home (or less if I so choose) and have it set for 16 amps for my daughters place.

I have the skills to run a #12 wire from a 20 amp breaker to a 14-50 plug. I would just need to give the I5 a boost during the winter when making it there and back could be iffy on a single charge.

it is UL and has a 3 year warranty. It is pricier than the Grizzl E (I really like the Grizzl E), but is more compact. It saves me from having to buy a second 120/240 cord.
I bought a GrizzlE and returned it for a Wallbox as the cable is far thinner on the Wallbox. No issues over the past few months.

Curious about people's opinions about the Grizzl-E vs the Juicebox 40. Are any of the smart features in the Juicebox useful or does the car provide all the control/info you need for controlling charging times? Relative cable thickness/handleabiltiy/length? Thanks!

It's true what they say about Grizzl-e support, they are pretty bad. I ordered a refurbished charger from them, then promptly opened a ticket before it shipped to cancel the order since it wouldn't qualify for the government rebates (my fault for not finding out first, i know). Support did not action and charger was shipped a day or two later.. So I opened another ticket to return it, got a response 3 weeks later, giving the ok. I ship it back expecting to get the refund as with any normal business, but nope, 1 month later and still no refund, so I call them and they had seen the returned item but just didn't process the refund. They only did after I called them. Also for the refund, they only refunded the amount minus shipping, so I had to pay shipping both ways even though I had asked them not to ship the item.
Was going to go with a Grizzl-e charger, but after having dealt with their customer service, I might go with another one.

When I am looking at buying an electronic device, I usually look for the simplest device. My experience is when you have a number of "smart device" that somehow are connect together, there is battle of which one has the final say. And as the user, you spend a lot of time trouble shooting multiple devices until you figure it out. With that in mind we purchased the Grizzl E (basic) and use the I5 smarts to manage the recharging and so far our re-charging has been trouble free.

I was going to get the Grizzl-E before I noticed the Juicebox on sale at Costco for just a bit more, so I went with that (for Costco's generous return policy). I do have the Juicebox smart features set up...but I don't use them. So to your point, if you want the Grizzl-E, get it.

For what it's worth, I have ordered an "AMPROAD iFlow P9 EV Charger Level 2, 40/32/24 Amp Adjustable, 240V EVSE with WiFi, Versatile for Portable & Wall Charger (NEMA 14-50, 25 Foot Cable)" from Amazon. Arrives tomorrow. I wish my Ioniq 5 was arriving tomorrow!

My utility doesn't give discounts for offpeak usage, so having a true Wi-Fi capability is not important. It's priced at $460, but when I bought it there was a $100 discount "coupon", so it was $360 plus tax, free Prime shipping.

This is a portable EVSE, and might even fit in the "frunk".

Caveats. It has got Wi-Fi, but only to talk to your phone, not the internet, so it's not controllable truly remotely. Also, the "25 foot" cable includes the length of the device and the cord which plugs into the wall. I would call this a 23 foot cable, but I'm pedantic.

Although I haven't used it for long (just got our I5 3 weeks ago) I'm happy to give a shout-out for our GoPlug 40A. Although it has a wi-fi app you can use if you like, what I really like about it is its simple 2-line LED that always displays present output current and cumulative output for the session. It also has a pushbutton that gets you into their menu system where you can easily configure output current if you want to downsize from 40A for whatever reason. It's also cheaper than most all other 40A wifi-capable EVSE units. Only downside I can see is it's not UL-certified. Their older32A box is UL-certified and my understanding is that the 40A is in process for that. Their phone sales/tech support is very easy to work with. (Thanks, Sara!)

Got a Grizzl-E. No problems. It is UL certified. My utility company already gave me a rebate check for 50% of the total cost, Grizzl-E plus electrician installation. I did not purchase the "smart" version because charging can be controlled by the vehicle, so there is no need for a "smart" device.
