Hello fellow IONIC 5 owners!
I have the SE model, which purchased 20 days ago. I updated the Navigation and Infotainment software with instructions from here - How to Update | Official Hyundai Motors Navigation Update Website - I got it successfully.
Although when the system restarted, it is not showing maps and navigation anymore. And those have not been working since then. I created a case with Hyundai but have been waiting for more than 2 weeks and still no help!

Any help and suggestions to restore the maps and navigation are highly appreciated!

See attached images.

Thanks,
Krassimir

You can try resetting the system. There's a button on the right side of the climate buttons that you'll need to press with a paper clip. I forgot how long you have to hold it. You can probably find the instructions somewhere on this forum or look it up in the manual.

You can also try updating it with the latest update that was released on the 28th. Your screenshot shows last year's update.

No way to restore to original factory version as far as I'm aware.

If the latest update doesn't work, then take it to the dealership. Don't wait for Hyundai's customer service to get it resolved for you, especially if you emailed them (it's better to call them). The service department is there to fix issues. If they can't, they'll try to get in contact with someone that should be able to.

krassib, this is the latest US version you should have installed in your vehicle. Post just a few days ago. Can we assume you used the downloaded the updater from the update.hyundai.com website, installed it and let it do is thing?

Ixlr8 correct - I downloaded the updater from the update.hyundai.com website, installed it, and let it do is thing. To be honest the first few times I was getting errors - see attached. But later try it went through! I am sure during those initial errors something was damaged in the map files and after that, the updates will not be able to repair them. But it is a strange dealer and tech support does not know how to restore the original factory-installed software. I am sure there is somewhere backup on the system. It sucks, cause you would have to get to their engineering to fix your car.

krassib, you mentioned you did the reset and battery disconnect without success. Just looking at the obvious here. You disconnected the 12v battery for at least 30 minutes. Tightened the terminal post back up again and nothing? Still same issue after updating with April 28th update?

That update was pulled then a few days later they uploaded a different version updated. April 28th must have had some bugs because there is a May 4th version. The documentation is no different than April 28th when I compared them.

yes, I did reset using the disconnecting of the 12V battery (under the front hood) - but it was more like 5 minutes (not 30 as you said). April 28 Update is what I have and the navigation updater software still downloads. For some reason, I don't see the May version. See screenshot. So I guess the next thing to try is to disconnect the 12 battery overnight (or at least 30 mins). I am doubting the May version will install the maps and navigation.

I mention the micro sd card from my experience with a Tesla. micro sd card will corrupt files easily with heat. They are not able to withstand the continuous read/write. I have had many micro sd card corrupt in my Tesla for the camera recording even though I purchased high write cards. However, when I went to thumb drives never and issue. This maybe obvious to you but thought I'd mention it to you as a possible reason of unsuccessful install issues you had originally.
