This is known bug that Hyundai is aware of.

 

Either exhaust gases from the car in front, or interference with their parking sensors. Some brands (Mercedes etc.) turn off sound/visual alarms from parking sensors as long as vehicle is stationary.

 

I have the same problem. The sound system reduces volume (yes, I know I can turn that feature off or just turn up the volume). It seems to occur just when the program I'm listening to gets interesting. It's annoying, but I can live with it. I like the solution Mercedes uses (above). I'd rather have the safety features give an occasional false positive than not work at all. (This happens even more on my Ioniq 5 than my Ioniq Plug -in)

 

You can hit Media button and sound will be normal even after more false alerts.

 

Seems like Porsche Macan users report that it always seems like it's a Ford vehicle in the front which causes it. Though coming from other brands before, never had this issue.

 

I have also noticed the front sensors randomly triggering when there’s nothing in front. On closer inspection , a couple of the sensors are looking corroded so maybe I’ll get the dealer to take a look and see if they need replacing. Actually, quite a lot of the silver trim around the car looks a bit corroded.

 

Same issue here on my 23' SEL. Getting behind an F-150 is a nightmare. The sensors go crazy.

 

Its not just this car. My 2012 3.8l ICE genesis does this sometimes, and ive seen other manufacture's cars do this. Honda etc.

 

Can’t get the car into the dealership for a while, does anyone know how to permanently turn off the front sensors.
