The new frame has mass dampers that get in the way of ALL current hitches. I have had 2 failed installs now, Curt, and Ecohitch. They DO NOT FIT. The mass dampers block the mounts from sitting flush with the frame. Check out the instructions for Hyundai's own OEM prior hitch which is now updated to say that it acutally no longer works for the 2025. Curt and Ecohitch and etrailer are STILL posting that they fit, even though the do not, and even though they have been told by several of us and my mechanic that they do not. They need to retool.
See the red on page 1 here.
The red text of interest to me, as a brand-new XRT owner:

• This is intended as a service part for 2025~ XRT models with the VIN starting with "7" that were originally factory equipped with Tow Hitch. Vehicles not equipped with a factory installed Tow Hitch will have Mass Dampers.
My VIN starts with 7, and I don't have a factory tow hitch. I suppose this means I have mass dampers, and will need a new, redesigned tow hitch, right?

Stealth Hitches - I reached a super helpful woman on the phone and confirmed that they are working on a hitch that should be available for purchase in 4-6 weeks. She was familiar with the job pictured above and said they had done a couple of custom fits to dial in their design.

This is... confusing. The most authoritative source -- "The Ioniq Guy" (Corbin) -- says that the hitch offered by U-Haul won't fit a 2025. But I called U-Haul last week and their hitch experts said that the hitch they're offering (not the Curt hitch) has been successfully installed on 2025 Ionq 5's. I'll find out when I get to the local U-Haul store on Wednesday, and will report back.

Reporting back on my trip to the local U-Haul: The hitch (Horizon Global, Model 76332) does not fit a '25 because of the bulge created by mass damper added to the rear suspension. That, despite what the U-Haul hitch experts said when I called. (Earlier in this thread, there's a good photo of a hitch with a cutout to accommodate that bulge.) And of course Corbin and the rest of you were right. The installer at the U-Haul store said he would tell the central hitch office about the problem, and he expects that they'll figure it out.

I received an email from StealthHitches.com this morning:

Please see the link below to view the hitch package options we now offer for the 2025 Ioniq 5. These parts are available for pre-order.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 - Preorder for Early May Shipping

Thank you for your interest in Stealth Hitches.
$568. Is that reasonable? It seems like a lot, but I've never bought an add-on hitch before.

But then I also need U Haul to install.

But I have no alternatives.

Do I pre-order now and get in line early?

Or do I wait for V1.1 to see if there are any issues with the first mass-produced batch?

I certainly wouldn't pay $568 for something that a hitch from Torklift Central can do just as well for almost half the price. Sure you can't remove the receiver but who cares? Wear it like a badge of honor!

Ah, I hadn't seen that TorkLift had also offered a product. It's a popular vehicle, so I suspect there shortly will be other competitors as well.

But I'm not ruling out Stealth just yet. It's not that I want to hide from eyes, but I might want to hide it from pavement. The StealthHitch looks like it preserves 2" of ground clearance when it's not installed, if I'm interpreting the design properly.

Yes. It appears nearly flush with the bottom of the i5, with the actual receiver part removed.

Note that my Stealth hitch is on a 2024 Ioniq 5 RWD LR LTD.

Oh fantastic, I'm grabbing the Torklift on pre-order! Corbin, would you know if the trailer wiring harness from the 2022-24 models are the same as the 2025 model? Or would it need a different harness?

Be aware the stealth RACK package is not for towing you'll need the gooseneck ball and safety chain for towing .The entire pack cost be nearly $1k USD.
Yeah, my sole use would be for a bike rack.

I got in on the pre-order for the Torklift EcoHitch for the 2025 Ioniq 5 and am waiting for delivery. I previously installed a Torklift EcoHitch on my 2017 Chevy Bolt (actually two of them on two different Bolts). Not worried about the installation process, though I am inclined to see if I can do it without removing the bumper. My main use is for a bike rack (RockyMounts MonoRail). I like the bike rack, but when loaded with two bikes, it does largely block the tail lights on my Bolt. Not sure if it will be a problem on the Ioniq 5, but I am thinking I should go ahead and install the Hyundai wiring harness (trailer) in case I need to add lights to the bike rack.

I do have a question about which Hyundai wiring harness is suitable for the 2025 model. I see confusing information from Ioniq 5 owners and from online vendors suggesting the Hyundai part number GIF67-AC100 is compatible with the 2025 model year Ioniq 5, but the GIF67-AC101 is not. However, I've also seen comments that the GIF67-AC100 has issues and was replaced by the GIF67-AC101. Other information suggests the GIF67-AC101 is not compatible with the 2025 wiring plugs. Has anyone installed the wiring harness on the 2025 Ioniq 5 successfully? Any recommendations?

Watching your post because I have the same questions....

I went from Bolt to Ionic too, I got honked at when signaling a turn with the bolt ,poor visibility. My 2024 Ionic has much better lite visibility at least with the Thule rack ..Also the techonsa wire harness was easy ,plug and play.I believe the bumper is removed to facilitate torqueing mounting bolts ,from my experience.

I talked with a Torklift customer service rep and he confirmed that their Ecohitch ECOX7490S was built specifically for the 2025 Ioniq 5. Installation requires removing the rear bumper and cutting a section out for the hitch receiver. I recall that with the 2023, there was a lower trim panel that needed to be cut In a similar way to accept the hitch I bought, but it appears from the installation instructions that the panel has been integrated into the bumper on 2025's.

I will try to find out whether cutting the bumper will result in a charge from Hyundai's leasing arm for replacing the whole bumper when the lease ends. If so, the more expensive Stealth hitch, which doesn't require cutting the bumper, may be less costly for leased cars.

I received a call from the folks at Torklift today verifying my order (and making sure I did not have an IONIQ 5N). As I understand it, the new EcoHitch units designed for the 2025 IONIQ 5 should start shipping the first and second week of May.
Are these hitches incompatible with the N?

How about the Stealth Hitch?

(I don't have an N, but I'm curious)
