Interesting that knowing many SUV owners utilize a hitch for many reasons that Hyundai would not engineer a product for their own vehicle during development. Understand aftermarket can’t do it without production vehicles. There was a post on another forum about one of the hitch manufacturers I believe in the Atlanta area that was soliciting for sample vehicles for hitch development

Interesting to see that the XRT doesn't have these mass dampers that are getting in the way. I've reached out to Hyundai for comment on this matter as if I can't get a hitch on my 2025, I'm going to be really annoyed.

Hey Corbin,
Given that the xrt doesn't have the mass dampers, do you think '24 MY compatible hitches would fit the xrt or are there other issues? Just took delivery of my xrt yesterday and definitely will need a hitch (and floor mats that will contain lots of slush and water).

22-24 floor mats won’t fit. Console footprint is different.

If your wondering what the mass damper is my 2024 had one ,about a 3 lb weight bolted near or to the diff.which was temporarily removed .Could it be that Stealth has cut them off permanently to get their hitch to fit?

It looks like they just cut a hole through their mounting bracket. I imagine the other OEMs will do the same thing and will have them on the market soon.

I know that both factory and aftermarket trailer hitches can be installed on 2022 - 2024 models. The rear bumper is changed on the 2025. Would it still be possible to install a trailer hitch?

Thanks in advance
Deeper into this thread there are comments to effect taht a 2025 can't be fitted with a hitch, and mentioning Curt hitches in particular. FWIW, U-Haul specifies a Curt hitch, Model 13520, for the 2023 Ioniq 5, but it specifies a different hitch for a 2025 -- a Horizon Global hitch, Model 76332. DRAW-TITE | Class III/IV: Receiver. The Horizon hitch is specifically for 2025's, and it's about US$40 more expensive than the hitch U-Haul offers for the 2023.

Their website is definitely incorrect. That Draw-Tite won't fit a 2025. The installation photos show a 2024 or earlier as there are no mass dampers and that hitch doesn't have cutouts for them. These manufacturers really need to do their research before saying there are no compatibility issues especially considering how heavy these hitches are. The shipping fees have to be substantial.

Thanks -- you're the authoritative source!

Is your vehicle a 2025? eTraier.com confirms that all the hitches that fit the 2024 will fit the 2025. They can't tell me if it requires different amount of modification of the bumper fascia. Hyundai h1 1/4" hitch, #GIF61AU000, will fit the vehicle, but no dealer will confirm what modifications may or may not be necessary on the bumper.
U-Haul tried, and failed. The hitch is different for 2025 IONIQ 5. Not compatible with earlier models.

Correct. See the pdf above. Hyundai slapped a red warning note on the instructions and finally now only lists their hitch as fitting 2024 and earlier. I have SEL.
Someone in this thread says they installed the Curt 13520 on an Ioniq 5 N which is a 2025 model year (they even have pics) - so maybe the N doesn't have the mass damper's?

Ioniq 5 hitch compatibility : r/Ioniq5N

At least I hope so as no hitch for a bike rack is a deal breaker for me on the N.

As of today (3/31/2025) no production 2" receiver (Class 3 hitch) exists for the 2025 Ioniq 5. The 2025 IONIQ 5 is not compatible with previous years. Don't let anyone tell you the '25 is the same as earlier models. I went through a big mess with Curt and U-Haul. U-Haul is replacing the skid plate with the wrong cutout.

Both EcoHitch and Stealth Hitch told me they are planning to deliver a revised 2025 production version in about a month.

This is... confusing. The most authoritative source -- "The Ioniq Guy" (Corbin) -- says that the hitch offered by U-Haul won't fit a 2025. But I called U-Haul last week and their hitch experts said that the hitch they're offering (not the Curt hitch) has been successfully installed on 2025 Ionq 5's. I'll find out when I get to the local U-Haul store on Wednesday, and will report back.
