TPMS sensors not self programming. Any tool recommended.

I had Hyundai OEM sensors installed on winter tires (Ioniq5)and got message to drive to display. I was told they were self programming. Lots of driving later and even at highway speeds, Did not work and then got TPMS or tire warning message.

So I cleared messages with car scanner and put in more pressure to try again. So far still no pressure displayed.

I called another hyundai dealer and they tell me the sensors need programming every tire change and it will cost $30.00 every time.

At this point I don’t know what to think and if this is true would rather purchase a TPMs programming tool. Any recommendations?

So finally gave up and got an appointment with the dealer. Took them 10 minutes. Programmed the winter tire/wheel TPMS and they immediately showed up once I started driving the car. Now lets see in the spring when I put the summer tires/wheels back on if they work or if they will need reprogramming again. I sure hope this is a one time thing.
