I had the battery preconditioning update installed about 3 weeks ago, but only used it for the first time today.
Shortly after I set it up using navigation for an EA station about 10 miles away, I started getting error messages about my lane keep functions, forward collision, and blind spot functions.
Bluelink reported the DTC as C164286
I called the dealer where I get my car serviced and the service manager apologized but said it would be late March or early April before they could get to it. He said another owner had the same issue and had to replace the ICCU (head unit?).
I called the dealer who I purchased the car from in March 2022 (now with 10000+ miles). They are going to see me on March 1st. They are 65 miles away from my home so I hope they can do something while I wait.
Has anyone else had the error above and/or the symptoms listed above?
Update: Feb 16, 2023 - the DTC seems to have self-corrected. I waited several days to see if it would re-occur and it hasn't. All functions are normal and Bluelink no longer displays the DTC.

I just had failed battery preconditioning update. The dealer installed wrong update.
BUT I am not sure BMS update will cause sensor issue…..
I’ve heard that faulty ICCU issues but not sure it’s from BMS update.

Actually, ICCU is the reason for extended warranty so I don’t need to worry about anything for 10 years/120k miles. I should get the extended warranty before 10k miles…..

I've got an extended warranty too. But this should be covered anyway.

Have you turned on the battery pre conditioning "switch" and entered a location for a charging station. I had the update for 3 weeks and finally used it two days ago. That's when the problem began. My advice would be not to do it. The dealer mentioned that what happened to me happened to another customer who had done the same update

I had the same code C164286. With previous faults, I would turn off the car, restart it and all would be well. With this code and associated faults of sensors, lane keeping assist and many others, the malfunction continued. I have a BLUETOOTH DTC reader which I used to connect to ABRP “route planner” which enhanced recharge planning on long trips. With it I connected to the car scanner app and without putting much thought to it I asked it to reset the codes. All 51 “sections” in it. When done, the warnings, faults, and malfunctions had all been cleared and have been since then (a week worth of driving). I was almost ready to head to the dealership but this solved THIS particular issue with DTC C164286. My 2 cents worth for future planning.

Thanks for the supporting info. I haven't had any errors since back in February when I reported it here. the error laste about 4 days and then disappeared and never came back. I am currently awaiting the update that will fix the sluggish Eco mode from the original battery preconditioning update. The dealer is due to install it on June 12.
