Random Rapid clicking noise

I have this noise coming from the dash at random times. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't affect anything. Driving is the same, cruise, climate, radio, turn signals, lights, brakes, regen - nothing is affected by it. I've tried turning everything off and on when it happens.

The noise typically lasts about 10 seconds but has gone on as long as 20 seconds.

I can drive an hour and not hear it. I can drive for 10 minutes and hear it 2 or 3 times.

I've even turned the car off and the noise continues.

Any Ideas?

thanks.

The problem went away for the winter and has now returned. Mechanic thinks its one of the actuators, but is not sure which one. Haven't tried repairing it yet. If you get it fixed let us know and I will do the same.

Following, as my 2018 Ioniq has exactly the same issue. I've taken it to two dealerships, with recordings of the noise. They have supposedly taken the front dash off and found no issues, but it still happens. Usually only in summer, but it doesn't matter if ac is on or off, or if I change vents manually.
Lately, the only thing I've discovered for mine is when the noise happens if I hit the defrost button it stops. How long that lasts is anyone's guess?

I'm having the same exact issue with our 2019 Ioniq Hybrid Blue. For a week or two if we turned off the recirculate function it seemed to stop for a bit. But now it happens either with recirculate on or off. No pattern as to why it happens that I'm able to figure it out.

In April we had it at the dealership and they said it only happened to them once for 30 seconds and it wasn't enough time to troubleshoot the issue so they just gave us the car back. I have another appointment with them in about 2 weeks because we have a bit over 57k on the car so the 60k bumper to bumper warranty is coming up soon and the noise is happening more frequently now.

Frustrating that they can't seem to figure this issue out.
Please let us know if you get it figured out. thanks.

The clicking noise is caused by gear movement of the internal air diversion flap within the air pipe. ADS comes on when the cabin humidity becomes too high and the system switch on the Aircon and divert the cool air towards windscreen. I guess the gears of these flaps were made of plastic and when the driving motor skips some teeth, it caused the clicking noise.

So you had this problem yourself?
My ADS is always off.
The noise occurs at varying lengths 2 seconds to 20 seconds.
It only occurs by itself not when manually selecting any climate settings.
It occurs when climate system is not in use.
It occurs when the car is powered off.
Noise only occurs in warm weather.
Currently I can stop the noise temporarily by selecting front defrost but that was not the case last summer. Nor does this stop the problem from reoccurring.
