I've had the odd minor issue but even so, right now I wouldn't want to drive any other car - even the Ioniq 6 - I love my Ioniq 5 and I wish it wasn't leased!

It's by far the most comfortable, effortless and safest driving experience I've ever had, and as a family we've had some really enjoyable and memorable trips in this car.

Being able to hear and talk to my son sitting in the back is a lovely benefit of the super quiet cabin, but one of my favourite things has been not visiting/using a petrol station for over a year now 😆

Right now I can't imagine anything coming out in the near future better than this car, I certainly wouldn't choose anything else right now (not even a Taycan if I could afford it 😆) - coming up to 10k miles and 14 months now, and I still genuinely look forward to reasons to go on long drives with it!

 

Our car finally had one major issue after 15 months and 25,000km, but the dealership says they can get the part by Friday, which would be just under two weeks since they saw the issue. Overall, we're very happy with the car. It's gotten us from the Canadian Rockies to the beaches of southern California, and to Christmas on time through -30 temps, icy roads, and low visibility.

 

We got ours used with 12k miles on it and now we have about 19k, no issues and not one trip to a dealer.

 

New to this forum and new to the car, but two weeks in and I'm really enjoying it. It's made driving fun again, which is a feeling I haven't had in a long time. My last car was a Volvo S60 – beautiful interior, very nice car, but nothing exciting or unique about it. Before that, I drove stick-shift convertibles for 25 years. Most of the time, they were fun to drive, but ever increasing traffic and a child put an end to 2-door sports sedans.
The I5 is so smooth, so quiet, so effortless to drive. It's quick when you want it to be and the single-pedal driving is really nice. The lane assist combined with adaptive cruise is just the right amount of automated driving for me – I just keep my hand resting on the wheel and my foot near the pedals and it does most of the driving.
My only gripe with the car so far is the Bose system is pretty lackluster for a $60k car. I'm on here researching what others have done to upgrade the sound.

Der I5 ist so geschmeidig, so leise, so mühelos zu fahren. Es ist schnell, wenn Sie es wollen, und das Einpedalfahren ist wirklich schön. Der Spurhalteassistent in Kombination mit adaptiver Geschwindigkeitsregelung ist genau das richtige Maß an automatisiertem Fahren für mich – ich lasse einfach meine Hand auf dem Lenkrad und meinen Fuß in der Nähe der Pedale und er übernimmt den größten Teil des Fahrens.
Mein einziger Kritikpunkt an dem Auto ist bisher, dass das Bose-System für ein 60.000-Dollar-Auto ziemlich glanzlos ist. Ich recherchiere hier, was andere getan haben, um den Sound zu verbessern. :zurückhaltend:
