Does the brightness bar work, even though the display control is greyed out? Almost like if you finish selecting brightness, does the display control come back?

Seems like the display control is not greyed out here (but, it's a 2022):

Just super curious, my limited is still on "order", someone else can probably just try to duplicate for you as the '23s arrive.

I was curious about the same thing, the HUD needs to be adjusted up for me as I like to get the seat as low as possible. My screen doesn't show that display control on my '23 either.

 

The screen shot with the red circle is from the youtube video and the red circle shows what is missing on my '23. I'll take a picture this eventing showing what my screen shows, but it seems that maybe this features (in addition to brightness) was removed from the '23s as Sid3ways doesn't have it either.

 

This is what I have on mine. I can only move the augmented stuff, I have no adjustment for the actual HUD. ;(

 

Exactly the same for me I plan to reach out to Hyundai to see if it got moved somewhere else in the menu

 

My dealer seems to think this was removed for the US spec cars 🤷🏻‍♂️ it's not the end of the world but it would have been nice...

 

it is in US Spec '22 model so makes no sense that US spec cars would lack that feature.

 

You do need the height adjustment. Yes there may be a preference if you want it more/less in you line of sight but relative to you physical height and how you have your seat adjusted it can cut off the display

 

Yes totally agree. I want to move the display up and to the right. It's not cutoff for me, but my buddy who's a few inches taller than me couldn't even see the display. I wonder if this is more due to chip shortages than feature deleting for the US market

 

Missing from our '23 Limited as well. I prefer the standard HUD display and I need it raised a little bit. The speedometer in the HUD is getting cut off unless I am sitting with perfect posture. I would like my seat a little lower but that is not an option if I want to see the HUD.

Our 2019 Kona has a HUD that was completely adjustable. Our Mazda and GMC HUDs were completely adjustable. Makes me wonder if Hyundai has outsourced their software development to the local high school.

Don't get me started on the unlock notifications and profiles.

 

I have the same issue and I just got a 23 Limited today. Really annoying. I hope just a software bug that can be corrected or a future recall/update to fix as this is a safety issue.

 

The latest nav/infotainment update added height and angle adjustment to the HUD All good now

Would you recommend going through the whole USB software update or just wait for the OTA update to become available? (ie which way did you do it?). I would prefer to use the in car OTA process if possible to avoid screwing anything up via the USB update, but if that isn't possible then I am willing to give the USB update a try. I tried checking for the OTA update this past weekend and it wasn't showing up, but I believe you have to drive the car for a bit for it to be willing to do accept there is an update. If you have any suggestions here, please let me know. Thanks!

hi, is there a secret location for these adjustments? I just updated and see nowhere to adjust the hud height in my car (2023 i5 ltd). thanks

Setup > Vehicle > Head-Up Display > Display Control
(Please note you have to install the November 2022 update via USB before this menu will show. The software already installed is missing this menu option as noted earlier in this thread).

My update has radio and navigation update options only, I downloaded about 2 hrs ago

 

I believe the updates take much longer than that. As suggested in this thread I left it overnight and it was there the next morning when I got in. Can you confirm the version of the software?

The update site says the Oct update should have this date: V009.001.221115

I can go check the car's version if yours doesn't match.

I agree. Make sure you have the latest update and run it overnight.

 

they said there is no fix until they create an update. I've sent your photo and process to share with the technician.
It worked and it shows that they know little and make no effort in finding solutions. But the car still cost the same. I bought it. Thank you for sharing the solution.
