I just ordered my RED Ionic 9 SEL. I can’t wait to drive it off the lot next week. Just wanted to introduce myself. I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and we own a 2 year old Tesla Y as well. We are now “all electric”! I’m very curious about the technology and how complicated it is. I plan to spend some time with the sales person having him go through the car with me. Any other suggestions are most appreciated!

As @Arob mentions, skip the sales team to learn about your new vehicle.

For better info, peruse this forum on the topics of your interest. Check out “Ioniq Guy” videos on YouTube. If you are into puzzles, redundancies, a bad translation, but yet decent information, RTFM. Hyundai itself also publishes a suite of videos for new owners on the owner website. Hit up another Ioniq9 owner near you; while certainly not commonplace, they are around. You may have a local Hyundai or even an Ioniq user group close by. Try some L3/DCFC charging locally to potentially meet others and to become proficient in the process.

And welcome to this forum and gang of active folks.
Thanks for the heads up. I have to do more paperwork this week when the car actually arrives on site so I will ask for the manual before I pick up the car. We do have a Tesla level 2 charger at home and plan to use that until I can get a separate one for the Ioniq. Any words of wisdom on the charger? It will be outdoors (no garage) and I’m hoping that they are weatherproof. Thanks for you insights.

Hi all, and thanks for the words of wisdom! Picked up my new Ioniq 9 SEL yesterday afternoon. What a dream car! Read all the manuals, got a lesson from a surprisingly knowledgeable sales person and left for home. Still have a lot to learn and will watch some videos and look up some more in the manuals. We did discover that by switching the positions of the cars (Tesla Y and Ioniq 9), we can charge both cars easily! We hardly ever use both cars and need long charging so I think we will be fine for now. Took the $400 charge credit (still waiting for the code - the company hasn’t quite caught up to the Ioniq 9 yet). The cost of installing another charger would have been $3000+. That’s not a good deal and I suspect that‘s the catch in taking the free charger with “I pay the install fee” is. I must say that the whole experience of buying the car was remarkably pleasant and the dealership was very professional (Mastria Hyundai of Plymouth MA). I actually liked that salesman and the sales manager! Love this site and hope to learn more from you all! Thanks!!!! Ellen
