Nice, surprised though that these weren’t LEDs from the manufacturer to begin with. Were your replacements just a plug-n-play or something more?

Do you have the draw type glove box? We do in the UK and it seems impossible to access the lamp with the draw in and I cannot see how to remove the draw!

The factory light housings are all snap in only so if you gently pry them from the sides, they will pop out. Be carefull as you can break them in the process of prying too hard.

 

Replaced all interior light bulbs to LED (vanity, glove box, and liftback). Added LED lights to interior, hood and liftback.

What's the glove box bulb type? I thought they were festoon but I was wrong when I tried.

Is the replacement to LED done to get a brighter light and lower consumption?

 

Mainly done so the lighting color matches the doom and other interior lights. Having some lights being white and some yellow just doesn't work for me. The replacements are brighter and are rated 3 Watts.

How did you install the lights in the trunk/liftgate? There is no light fitting there on my model. I would like to do the same its too dark back there.

 

Based on the links posted, I assume he probably just wired them and used double sided tape to mount them.

 

I wonder what these are and how they mount?

Interesting, but not at that price. As for location, I'm not sure but my guess is under the rear bumper.

My install is not as nice, but fully installed my cost was $4.

black trim would be nicer but only available in 10pcs. Those instructions are great though at it clearly tells you where to drill the holes.

I wired it so if the car is on, the lights are always on just like the ambient lights on the doors/speakers. I did this mainly because the LED consume very little power.

I can, but it's simple enough. if you want the light to stay on while the car is on, you can tap into the USB port wires. The two outside wires of the USB connector wires are your power and ground. Tap the center floor USB for the floor LEDs and the USB center console (above the wireless charging pad) for the center console LED.

If I have time I'll take some pictures. This might take a day of two.

I ordered and received the LEDs. What did you use to physically tap the power? Just some T Taps or something else?

did you just buy some 18 gauge wire to extend the LEDs out? Think I’m going to try it this afternoon.

 

I did not, but you can extend them as needed. If the LED are too bright, you can a resistor or two to lessen the brightness. I left the LED as is for my install. Take a pic or two to share when you're done.

Very nice and clean, good job.

Keep in mind, we want better/brighter light but at the same time to consume the least amount of power. Most of the strip light uses over 1 amp. In this case, it probably doesn't matter because the light most likely will only be on for several minutes at a time.

I did change the front signal light to amber/white switchback led with aid of adapter I made. But fairly simple if you just want direct LED replacement. However, you have to find led bulb to draw at least just under 1 Amp or the car will hyperflash thinking it is a blown lamp. Below link to my mod.

I was trying to replace the glove box light, but it was too hot. Is there a way to turn it off? How to remove it from the mount?

 

You could pull the fuse to turn the light off, then slowly pry the housing from the sides. The housing will come loose but be careful not to break it.

 

If you try to replace the glovebox incandescent bulb, be careful. When I tried to pull the bulb, I accidentally broke the wires to the switch. The wires had about 1 extra inch and that wasn't enough to safely remove the bulb. Well now at least I got the LED bulb in and the light doesn't get hot (cause it never turns on).

 

I tried to get the glove box light fixture out today with no sucess. I pried the left side out but the right side would not budge, and it seemed like there was not sufficient wire length to remove the right side. Could someone that has successfully removed the light fixture chime in on how to remove it.

You just need to be patience and take your time. Pry with a small screw driver from the sides.

I ended up blending two options with good results - the led light strip talked about here and another light strip talked about elsewhere.
I put the smaller light strip on the left side.
My ability to hide the top light wiring is... rudimentary.
