I doubt anyone here can say for sure. I would assume the memory settings are contained in the CPU wherever that is. The screen is just a display and I would assume settings and memory would not be lost
I know someone had the entire screen replaced. The entire dash module needs to be replaced that includes both screen. You loose all info including your mileage reading. Resets back to ZERO.
The garage damaged the screens removing them to get at the Air con module, after replacing them they were twitching, but I'm not sure they changed them as the only thing I've lost is the mileage.
