Has anyone successfully managed to enter engineering mode on the Ioniq 5? The usual tricks to enter it don't appear to work on this model.
nope. we have been trying also. the problem is with doing the dealer mdoe / engineering mode, with the volume lvl trick 7-3-1 , is that we need to confirm with the right knob. and ioniq 5 doesnt have right knob.
so its probably a touch on the screen somewhere
Does the 7-3-1 not work when touching the screen to the right of the "update" button in settings like in the 2020 Ioniq that doesnt have the right nob?
Go into settings to the screen that shows system info and the update button on the bottom then turn volume to 7 press on the screen in the position indicated below. Then turn volume to 3, press again then turn volume to 1 and press again. Should bring up a screen asking for a code.
Ah, now I see what's wrong. Your head unit is Linux (judging by that S5W_L), mine is Android (it says "Android 4.4.2" in Engineering Mode)
Have you tried this method in the pic below? (this isn't my car, the pic is from XDA-Developers, and it shows a Linux head unit just like yours):
Maybe someone can try and search for 엔지니어링 모드 on YouTube and try entering engineering mode from the videos seen. It’s a simple Google translation of ‘engineering mode’ in Korean. There are a few different methods seen in the videos. Maybe one works.
The car screen shows ‘Screen Capture disabled’. The subtitle is wrong.
Don’t you see the disabled message?
But you do see the Korean messages after holding media?
it has to be somewhere . i have seen engineering mode on kia ev6. but thats because it has a right knob.
they both use the same software anyway.
but someone must have tried with a " no right knob " dealer mode on other models
another thing. since the june update they have closed down the usual enginering method access.
so now only dealer mode is available.
and thats the one we need to find.
@SonicSpinner I get a password popup, using this recipe:
Dealer Mode (Diagnostics, Location, Media, Radio, Smart Pure Air Version Info/Update)
Press the Setup button or choose All menus -> Settings
Choose System Info
In a quick sequence set volume using left knob to level 0, then to level 7 and press the right knob, then set volume to level 3 and press the right knob, then set volume to level 1 and press the right knob
Password is 2400
Choose Send
In the IONIQ 5 the "right knob" is the up/down lever, which can also be pressed (beside the tune text). However password 2400 is not recognized, also not 2900.
Getting closer and closer. Nice!
Will be able to try as well in 2 weeks when I get my car delivered.
Maybe try the current time as password in 24hour notation if you haven’t tried that yet.
