Instrument Cluster/Display not working?

Hey everyone,

I'm having some issues with the instrument cluster/display not working sometimes after turning on the car. Basically I cannot see the speedometer, change settings, see if cruise control is on, ect. However the car drives just fine with all the features working. Has anyone else run into this issue? It seems to happen if I turn the car off and turn it back on within five minutes or so. If I leave the car for fifteen or more min, it seems to come back but I can't wait that long between each drive. So far, I've been having to use Waze to tell how fast I'm going unfortunately.

Thanks!

Wow, that sounds pretty critical. I'd be talking to the dealership about that, I can't see how it wouldn't be a warranty issue.

Yes this is happening to us. We took the car in to the dealership Saturday for routine check up and oil change. Sunday we took it on a roadtrip and the display went completely black two times. The only unusual thing other than the check-up was the display reading 103 degrees F. I see this was not the case with some above but I found an old thread with several people experiencing this during high heat events. We have not gone back to the dealer yet, but plan to. Hope to hear how your situations resolve.

Update:
This just happened again yesterday. It was okay for more than 2 weeks before the issue resurfaced. So the software re-install did not help.
I was fortunately quite close to the dealership at the time and brought the car to them, so they can observe the issue first-hand. The head of servicing and the guy who handles the warranty claims were both present. The current conclusion is that the whole instrument cluster will be replaced once the parts arrive. The instrument cluster display and the computer for it are a single package and can be replaced only together.

I am having the same issue. It cropped up once about three years ago, now twice in the last month. Mine seems to be heat related. Further, I notice that as I turn off the car, the dash lights up for a second. When I turn it back on, it's lit for about a quarter mile or so before going dark again. Once I get the car cooled off, the problem disappears. I live in Las Vegas where parking in the sun in the summer is brutal. It's at the dealership now. I'd love to hear if replacing the instrument cluster fixes this.

It didn't happen since my last update on 20th July.

It took a month for the replacement part to arrive and it's been installed since yesterday. Now I have to wait and see.

Additionally, the new display couldn't read the odometer numbers stored in the computer so it started from 0 again. The dealership was advised by Hyundai to just put an official note into the Warranty booklet regarding this. Fortunately my car only had around 7,000 miles in it, so hopefully, this won't cause any misunderstanding once I try to sell it in the far future.

Update after one and a half months. The new instrument cluster seems to be working fine. The issue didn't happen since the replacement.
