We had a reservation for the ID.4 Pro AWD for six months before test driving an Ioniq 5 SE AWD. Then I got an email from VW letting me know delivery on the ID.4 would be another 6-8 months. From what I've seen since even that may have been overly optimistic.
The Ioniq 5 we test drove was still available so we bought it in mid-february. The only major con of the I5 was the higher price. So far we're very happy with the I5.

I also have a VW Pro S AWD with Gradient package on order, which will be cancelled as soon as I receive notice that my Ionic 5 is ready for pick up, hopefully in a few weeks. Looking forward to it. Price was about the same for me, but I am getting an SEL, not the Limited (which I couldn't find at a reasonable price).

I looked at the ID.4 but for me, my goal was to have a good roadtrip car... I work remote but still manage 15-20k miles a year most from climbing and hiking trips all over. The charging speeds with the Ioniq 5 were the main draw for me. I also love the looks and now that I've driven a 1400 mile roadtrip to get it home from the dealer, I'm very very happy with the decision. A bit less cargo space than the ID.4 (I'll manage) and more car like ground clearance (not an issue for most of my trips) are the main negatives. So many positives though and its a super comfy relaxing and somehow still speedy road-tripper.

Test drove ID.4 and it was not what I wanted , saw Ioniq 5 and said had to have, ordered on day 1, 5 mths later love it RWD Preferred , did not need AWD wanted range and has more than enough features and soon stereo system will be killer:) EV6 GT Package 2, full load, on order , expected next Feb. Possibly earlier, wife plans to trade to it once in
