I placed my pre-order for an Ioniq 5 Ultimate some time back and was excited to get it; still am. But delivery has been pushed back a few times (build date now August 2022) and I'm just waiting for the inevitable next delay. I only recently became aware of the existence of the Genesis GV60. To be specific, the model I'm most interested in is the AWD Advanced. It looks to have similar features to the Ioniq 5 in many respects, except it's slightly more premium. Even though I love the Ioniq 5's unique sci-fi headlights, the GV60 has equally cool headlights. Plus I dig the "crystal ball" that you use to change the drive mode. Prices for the Genesis GV60 have not been announced yet, but it will probably cost $65,000.00, which will qualify for the Canadian government's new and improved iZev program. So all in all, the Genesis GV60 will probably cost about $5,000.00 more than an Ioniq 5 Ultimate, which I think is a small price to pay to get a vehicle from Hyundai's premium brand and is nicer in most respects.
Expected delivery dates of the Genesis GV60 are also mysterious; some people say some might get delivered this year, others think they will be delayed until next year. I am thinking about keeping my Ioniq 5 preorder but also putting down a $1,000.00 pre-order deposit for the Genesis GV60 and whichever car gets delivered first wins!
