FITCAM X Dashcam Install

Anybody put this in yet? The FITCAM X product page for the Ionic 5 install seems to be wrong. My 2024 USA Ionic 5 has mirror post to the left of the 6 vents, but the product page for the Ionic 5 says that this is for RHD cars (steering wheel on the right). Has anyone done this install and had the same observation? There are four ordering options and if I order the one that matches my car, the product page says this is for an RHD car.

Any comments on how it works?

I think their site is correct. Here's a photo of the piece I pulled out of my US (left-hand-drive) 2025 Ioniq 5:
Image

This matches what FitcamX shows for the left-hand-drive model. Note that when it's installed, it's going to be flipped over (upside-down relative to both this picture and what FitcamX shows) and viewed from underneath, with the bulge (top of the photo) forward in the car.

Of course, mine is a 2025, not a 2024 like yours; but FitcamX's description was incorrect when I bought mine, and they sent me the 2024 version, so I've seen both of them. They're very similar; they differ slightly in dimensions and so are not interchangeable, but the relative positions of the cutouts and ventilation slots are the same.

Boy, do I feel stupid. I was looking at it upside down and once I look at it the correct way, it's obvious! Many thanks! Their site says 2024 and 2025 are the same, so I hope they send me the 2024 version.

Aside from that, would you purchase again? One really can't trust the U-tube installer's videos--uniformly good. there's a 10% discount thru Prime day.

I've got a '24 Ioniq 5 RWD, LR LTD. Put in a FitCamX earlier this year. I had an issue figuring out which version to get, and I ended up buying the wrong one. I contacted FitCamX directly, they were very responsive, and sent me a set of cables, one of which was the right one for my vehicle. It's critical that you understand which rear-view system you have, because the cables are different.

I'd recommend that you pop off the rear-view's cover (it's really easy), contact FitCamX, and send them a photo of what your vehicle's interface looks like. Be sure the photo clearly shows all of the connectors. Could save you some hassles later.

BTW, my FitCamX works great. I got the single cam version.

The shroud definitely changed between model year 2024 and 2025, at least in the US for the "main" (non-5N) trims. The number of ventilation slots should correctly identify which is which.

I ordered mine in late January or early February, and they had me remove the shroud, photograph it, and send them photos, as @GregBrew suggested. That's a good suggestion, but they still sent me the wrong one! In fairness to them, at the time they seemed to think that the new 7-slot design was unique to the Ioniq 5N, but it was actually a model year change, at least in the US. (I have no idea if Ioniq 5s built outside the US use the same shroud for 2025 as US-made cars.) As with @GregBrew's experience, FitcamX sent me replacement parts, but in my case it was more than a cable -- it was a whole new shroud and related fittings. It took me a few minutes to transfer the electronics from the old shroud to the new one, but the camera works fine now that it's done. AFAIK, all 2024 Ioniq 5s use the 6-slot design.
