The Dongar adapter just arrived and I did a Facebook Live stream testing it and IT WORKS!
Here's a link to the live stream I did:
Super simple to install, it supports up to 5V 2A, my dashcam is 5V 1A.

You can buy from their website or on Amazon.

The center piece of the sensor cover pops right off, just pull from the top corners.
The large plastic cover is easy too, after removing the center cover, push down on the large plastic piece.

Plenty of room to store long cables.
Here's what the sensors on the windshield looks like.

So I put the USB plug and most of the USB cable on the left side of the plastic cover, then squeezed the white adapter to the right side. Had to turn it a bit otherwise the center piece won't snap in all the way.

I have the Dongar adapter on order and am about to order a dash cam without battery backup. Does anyone know what car modes the rearview mirror / dongar adapter will get power? (Does Accessory or On get power?) I was wondering if I could keep the dash cam powered during fast charging by turning the car back to On, allowing me to leave the car during charging, lock the doors, and keep the camera functioning. If it receives power in this mode and if I can lock the car and leave it in this mode it should work. [Edited to add image]

From what I've seen it only works in accessory/on mode, so if the vehicle is off the camera turns off too.

As for the other thing, that's more of an Ioniq question I'm not so sure, but if the car is on the camera will be on. Whether the car will let you leave it on and lock the doors I'm not sure. Also not sure I'd want to leave a car "running" where somebody can break the window and drive off with it.

Looks like it’s a micro usb input so you would need a usb to micro usb cable. Sounds like it comes with that. If not, easy to find on Amazon.

I’ve used Rexing dash cams from Amazon and they do well also. I only run front cams due to simplicity.

Howdy everyone. I got my Dongar cable the other day and wanted to give my impression of it. The package includes the adapter cable, a microUSB cable, and a miniUSB cable. The adapter itself is fine, it's just a plastic adapter and cable. The USB cables are good. The installation was not too bad. Fitting everything inside the small area was tough but with time and patience you can fit it all under the cover. I tested my dash cam and it works without issue. There is a blue LED on the USB female socket but is unnoticeable once you fit everything in and attach the cover. Since I installed it during the day and don't drive much at night not sure if it affected the auto dimming function of the mirror. I really doubt it but figured I'd mention it.

Overall, I like the functionality but I think it's a bit overpriced (I paid about $37 in California) as it's about half the cost of a decent Viofo dash cam. Really you're just paying for the convenience of not having to run a cable down your headliner, A pillar, and into the 12v socket. If you're comfortable doing that work (which I am and did) then save the $. If you want to avoid that (or need use of the 12v socket) then spend the $.

FYI: Using the Dongar adapter in the mirror console does not work for "parking mode" for dash cams. Those dash cams require hard wiring to the fuse box or a battery pack to operate properly.

This installation with the Dongar adapter only provides power to the Dashcams when the car is on.

Thought you all may want to know that before making a decision.

Dongar adapter arrived yesterday and I installed a Garmin Mini 2 today. One issue with the Garmin cables, They have 90 degree mini C connectors which is great. Unfortunately, the short one only connects downward and the long one upward. With the connection on the Dongar coming out behind the mirror, you need a upward connector for a cleaner install. If you remove the entire plastic piece behind the mirror and roll up the long cable (tie off with a zip or rubber band), it will fit in the plastic enclosure.
