C Wheels from Costco

Hello, I've been looking to purchase a set of wheels for my winters.

I purchased Michelin X-Ice 235/60/R18 tires from Costco.ca and now I need to look for 18 inch wheels that would fit my IONIQ 5.

Costco has C Wheels as their supplier for wheels and they do list Ioniq 5 on their list. However, they only have two options (20 inch alloy and 19 inch steel).

I called their support centre and they said I can just purchase 18 inch wheels for 2022 Santa Fe, as they think they would fit Ioniq 5 (Not guaranteed).

The option I'm going to order is this one:

The specifications match what the OEM 19 inch wheels have and I think set of these would fit.

Has anyone tried these on their Ioniq 5? I'm about to order a set of these as their return policy is very generous, and confirmed that if these wheels don't fit, I can just return them to Costco

Thank you

These wheels look like they will fit. The offset is smaller than the stock 19's 49.5mm offset, so the tire will stick out 7.5mm outside of the factory setting. But getting aftermarket rims with offsets >40mm is challenging.

These wheels are also heavy compared to many 18" alloys. Most I've seen are closer to 21-24lbs. Heavier wheels will cause some range decrease.

But they'll fit.

It is 10 dollars more per wheel, but I guess lighter weight would be beneficial in terms of range?
Yes, but probably not enough to matter. The extra 20 pounds for a set is completely trivial considering a curb weight of around 4,400 pounds. Rotational inertia? Yes, but only when accelerating and decelerating. So in a race car on a track, it can be rather significant (although they care a lot more about the rate of acceleration/deceleration than energy consumption). In the hands of ordinary drivers on the street who spend the majority of time at a fixed speeds, pretty negligible. I'd be surprised if lighter wheels would add more than a mile of additional range. Narrower and higher profile tires on the other hand can greatly add to range with a significant drop in rolling resistance.

I made the expensive mistake of fitting lighter magnesium wheels to a motorcycle, fancy steel coated aluminum disks, and a lightened flywheel (all rotating weight). Couldn't tell the difference in performance, nor mpg. However on a bicycle, I can easily tell how much lightened wheels and tires add to performance. My quarter horsepower now feels much faster in accelerating such a bicycle - a fun snappy feel.

They're really great! Thanks to Etienneb, I got the same ones. Remember to get the OEM TPMS sensors (~$140 CAD) and give them to the installer. They are self learning so no programming is required and there should be no additonal installation cost for the TPMS.
