Its so subtle I didn't think it would show up at night, Literally cant see that its even there during the day when its powered up. Dude it looks sick at night.

Lined the top of the gauges and top of the passenger dash with a light bar. LOL $5 at DollarTree, why not!!

With it powered off:

With it on:

Got a light bar for the front upper assembly
@kuskye25 - Thanks for showing this - I watched your Youtube and saw you tapped into 1 and 3 for pos/neg.

Did you just jamb the wires into the sockets, or did you do something else?

The diagnostic door no longer shuts.

Do you know when the diagnostic port is used, and how this might affect the dealers ability to use it?

You are most welcome. This car has been so much fun to add stuff too, and surprisingly ive not had a hiccup adding anything. It all went in or on super easily.

To your questions, I soldered metal prong ends on the wire that actually insert into the holes "random crap laying in my RC soldering box". Also I notched the lid just enough that it closes. If you want to do it a bit more pro, unmount the diag port from the chassis, and tap into the wires under the diag port. Or tab into any other ignition switched 12v wire.

I do not know when a dealer would use this port, its an EV probably literally anytime you have an issue they will use it, but my wires are easily removed and I purchased my vehicle not lease so all good.

Im in love..... I'm pretty big on looks, and no other EV captures my heart like this gorgeous hatch-back!!! Although the model Y I test drove was fun it looked like poo. The ID.4 proS was fun and looks good, but the Ioniq 5 takes the cake for all around best Looks/Performance.

Do you have instructions/guide/video of how you installed the led piping to the dash?
*Your HI5 looks like its should be in TRON

Well great question lolol. I did start filming but it was such a PIA that I stopped filming about 10% of the way in. Its not easy to do, but totally doable. Very frustrating but at night when you see it, all the blood sweat and sore fingers are soooo worth it. Between it and the big screens I have people talk to me at stop lights at night all the time saying how much they love the dash and they have never seen anything like it!!!

I will say this, the upper line was the easiest, all the lower stuff..... Lord have mercy.... Not fun!!!

did you have to pry the dash apart? Did you follow someone else video? I'd really like to do that too but I dont want to be 35% into it or at a point of no return and destroy my dash.
*If you live in Fla - I'll buy you beer and bbq just to be an advisor (lol)

haha i'm in TN, im close but not that close lol... No you dont have to take anything apart, and the little included tool is all you need. You jam it in and insert the light strip mm by mm. Its just long and tedious and there is a few parts that I had to trim off all the extra plastic to make a hard bend corner. You def wont break anything. And if you do what I did and get it at dollartree who cares if you ruin the strip. But surprisingly these strips take a lot of abuse.

I promise you wont break anything on your dash and you take 0 apart. Its just blood sweat and sore fingers my friend. And in the end super worth it.

Did you need to disassemble anything or just use the spatula to crack open the seems a bit? I can see how I can't do the parameter around the top of the head unit
Nope you don't need to disassemble anything... yup just the included spatula thing to open it up a bit and sink the light strip in millimeter by millimeter, after having done it its not the worst thing in the world, but initially it felt like this isn't doable.

The satisfaction though of being the only car ive ever seen that has done it is awesome. I've always looked at the pictures on amazon and thought that looks amazing why doesn't everyone have that. Well I know why now haha.
