Hi. Another 'compare to the Prius' question for those who already have a Ioniq:

In the Prius:
1 - when you start up the car, you have a few seconds to engage EV mode, before the ICE kicks in. This is useful if you want to move the Prius a short distance, which I often need to do (parking musical chairs).
2 - In cold weather, the ICE can start up to keep the engine warm, even if you are stationary, sitting traffic.
3 - The Prius has a 'B' gear mode which is essentially engine braking, so that you don't burn up the brakes when going down long descents.

Does the Ioniq behave in the same way?

Thanks in advance, Paul

Hi Asfafa

if it is cold and the heater needs to come on to warm the cabin the ICE starts immediately

once cabin is up to temp I only runs to top the battery up or when the 40ps of the motor is not enough to maintain speed

if you brake gently you only use regen braking, but on the hybrid the regen braking is not that effective on a hill
