What pros and cons do you see in what we know about Ioniq 6?

Purchased an Ionic 6 Limited today to replace my EV6 that was totaled. Loved my EV6 and very happy with the Ionic 6. My only gripes are:
  1. Navigation needs a true route planner that incorporates weather and elevation into charging stop route plan.
  2. No HUD on the U.S. spec Limited trim. Hoping HMG roles dual screen CarPlay in a future software update.
  3. The Bose sound system is sub-par.
  4. No wireless CarPlay or Android.
Motorola has a $90 adapter that plugs into the USB and gives you wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It looks to be the size of a Google chromecast (if you've seen one of those). Just go to Motorola.com and it's in the accessories section. I would give you a review except I haven't gotten around to getting my own yet.

The wireless adapter is not bad to work around the lack of wireless AA/CP but not a full solution. The issue is you can run into port failures over time and/or the adapter failing. If exposed to excessive heat the adapter can and will malfunction and damage the USB port. Wireless AA/CP avoids all this.
Never said it was a perfect solution. Right now there is no good solution for connecting your smartphone by cable and having a great place (yes, the cupholders are an option but then you only have one cupholder for two people. I already have a problem with my garage door opener and HOA gate opener (which is a VERY OLD MODEL with dipswitches and no possibility of combining remotes and it's twice as big as a normal garage door opener and has only a single button (the development was build in the 2005-2007 time frame) bouncing around in the space in front of the cupholders. I don't have an SEL/Limited with the wireless charging (I am completely happy with my White Exterior, my cloth interior, 18" wheels, and AWD and there weren't really any features of the SEL/Limited that were wants or must haves). It's a shame because a car that costs over $45,000 MSRP shouldn't skimp on things like wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. And as long as we're ranting the elimination of spare tires in most (and I'm sure soon all) vehicles in the name of cost and weight savings is ridiculous.

Funny thing happened on a recent road trip. I manually found a DCFC station (EA) and the nav found it. Then told me I need to stop to charge to reach the destination, which is differently named and spec'd as a DCFC. But it wouldn't allow me to add the waypoint because it was too close (0 ft away). This is fucking stupid. Fix the database to prevent double entries for the same site. Also remove "Stall 1, 2, 3" etc as possible entries, it does not make it easy to use if I have to select one of 40 dispensers at one destination. Because the location I pre-selected was not coded as DCFC, the battery would not pre-condition to prepare for it. You cannot manually turn on battery pre-conditioning - only if the destination is coded as a DCFC charger.
I thought we were past the point where car manufacturer's were incorporating proprietary solutions for mapping - they are never as good as the experts - be it Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps (you knew Apple would eventually get it right).

My Ioniq 6 is fantastic. I have the long range SE and I get 400 miles to a full charge on my level 2 charger. I have used the Motorola dong for two plus years on my Ioniq 5 and 6 and it works flawless for Android Auto. I leave it plugged in 100 percent of the time and never had a problem. I get OTA updates periodically on my 6 and everything g about this vehicle is awesome. I leased it for 36 months, no money down, 12k miles/year for $339/ month.
Don't have the same history (only one month) but the car is a great ride (and with the AWD dual motor is the sports car (once in a while) I always wanted and never had. Also, with only 24,000 domestic sales expected in 2024 it's still a very unique car and have yet to see another one (see loads of Teslas - Model 3s and Ys. Adding the AWD, Tinted Windows, and Pro Bra (a 3M film on Hood, Mirrors, Door Jams) had a trade of net $7K got me 33 months @ $321/month. Best car I've ever owned (and I've had some that I really loved) and we'll see how it holds up over time - got the White with Black Interior (and hasn't seemed to be a problem yet even in Nevada Heat). Even with 5 dealers in a 100 mile radius it's hard to get exactly what you want so took this one as it came in and love it.
