One useful appliance we've found is the everyday small $80 microwave, placed in the back with the cord snaked under the back seat (heavy duty extension cord needed). It works quite well powered from the V2L and can be handy for anything from heating up a cooled cup of coffee to tailgating with hot dogs, pre-grilled hamburgers/chicken, etc. As a bonus we have a spare microwave in the event the one in the house craps out.

However, we have questions. First of all, we thought the Utility Mode had to be "On" for the outlet to be activated. Not so, in our case just plugging in activates it, doesn't matter if the mode is on or off. Secondly, adding an outlet switch does turn the microwave off and on, but the outlet remains in "ready" green mode whether the switch is on or off. Cutting the vehicle power button does shut the outlet off, but restarting with the plug in reactivates the outlet, regardless of Utility Mode. To play it safe, we just unplug when not using.

Would anyone have any insight on this?

Does the key fob need to be in car to run all this electronics? I know if I walk away from the car on, it warns me that car is on. I don’t know if I want to leave the fob in car and walk away. Easy for someone to drive away.
The key fob needs to be in the car to start it. It (and I presume any operating electronics) will remain on if you walk away with the fob, even after the 10 second warning signal. I would not recommend doing so unless the car is secured, but I see no reason to run electronics (or the car) when you're separated from the vehicle.
