Seeing posts when the new Waze update allows it to be displayed on some cars in the driver's instrument cluster on other branded cars (BMW and some others)

Third party apps allowing driving instructions/directions on the instrument cluster and/or the HUD would be a big win imo. The only reason I keep using the inbuilt mapping is for charging stops on long trips and the HUD display.

I hope the software Devs read this.

OP. FWIW in my 2025 IONIQ 5 Limited which has the updated Infotainment system (ccNC) introduced with the IONIQ 5 mid-life refresh, when I use an alternative map e.g. Apple Maps via CarPlay for routing, it displays in color in the HUD similarly to native Nav (but IMO, much better), so Hyundai has made recent progress. I do not use Google Maps or Waze within CarPlay, or have access to any Android devices, so don't know how they may operate. Additionally, Apple Music is thoroughly integrated throughout Hyundai's native Infotainment beyond my expectation, with even a brief optional color display in the HUD of the album cover and album/track info when a new track begins (even if I'm using native Nav at the same time my Apple Music is playing.)

Hyundai has not however, taken the next step integrating EV-specific info back into CarPlay like SoC, speed, etc as Porsche and a couple others have in the past few months. I'm not holding my breath, but remain hopeful this is still coming in a future update to my new ccNC system, since it appears Hyundai has already done a great job integrating the rest of CarPlay into their Infotainment, it would be a shame to not go the rest of the way. Time will tell.

I've read elsewhere that Hyundai officially said last year they are integrating more Google maps info into their ccNC-based Nav yet this year. As to how far that implementation goes or not, I don't think there are many specifics. Unfortunately, from past experience with other brands, I would not expect major changes to older Gen5W Infotainment systems like in your 2023, but perhaps we'll be surprised.

I'm pretty sure my 2025 I5N does this already, I never use the cars built in navigation, I always use Waze. When I cycle through the three different driver's view mode options, one of them is to have the turn by turn navigation appear on the driver's instrument panel, from what I remember this works even when using Waze. The detailed Waze map still appears on the center screen. I really rarely use this mode though to be honest, I almost always have the utility mode enabled, looking at things like motor temp, driving force distribution, trip information, etc... So I may be wrong.

Great to hear it's in the ccnc nav. Real shame you can't upgrade a 2023 to a ccnc infotainment as I would actually pay for that upgrade in terms of user experience.

Agree with everything said allowing car data back into Android auto etc. I assume this is coming when it moves to a fully Android based system anyway though as would be necessary.

Not worth upgrading the whole car for this kind of feature but shame it likely won't retrospectively be applied
