USB data port dropping connection

Has anyone else experienced the USB data port dropping connection? I first experienced this with the Car2Go dongle and chalked it up to that hardware, but it's also happening with a wired USB connection. It's not a ton, but consistent enough to make it a nuisance.

There have been a few reports of people having the same problem.
Initially I had drops, but since updating to the latest Infotainment system (the May 4th one), I haven't had any issues.
I have the same issue. Got tired of messing around with it so I just use the built in Nav and Bluetooth instead of Android Auto. Haven't tried the warranty route. After hearing stories on here of taking it in and the tech not being able to replicate it, I assume I'll have the same result.

In other threads the culprit has turned out to be a low spec USB cable. Solved by substituting a high quality cable. I can’t be sure of course but you might give it a try.

Imagine if someone would come up with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay built into the head unit.....

My car just developed this problem. I play mp3s from a thumb drive, plugged directly into the usb port, so I know it's not a usb cable issue. (I even tried another usb drive, in case mine was defective.) About a month ago, the usb music starts cutting in and out at random times, switching to radio or silence. It can happen anywhere from several times an hour to several times during one song. It's due for the 10,000 mile free tire rotation at the dealer soon, so I will have them fix it at the same visit and let you know if I learn anything.
We've had intermittent problems with the USB since last May. I've taken it to the dealer twice. Both times they claimed it worked "back in the shop". They won't replace it unless they can observe the malfunction. There are lots of owners reporting this issue but the dealers and Hyundai continue to act like they've never heard of it. Currently if you want it fixed you need to hang out at the dealer's service department until it malfunctions in front of them or fix it yourself.

This is one and only problem we've had with our I5.
Is it confirmed that replacing the USB port is THE FIX?
The three fixes so far all involved manipulating the current cable and as far as I know everybody's has worked since "fixing" it

-I replaced mine with an identical Hyundai OEM part and it's worked fine
-Others have put Noalox on the original cable and it's worked fine
-A few have just re-seated the original cable and it's worked fine
Someone replied on the thread you created with the instructions to replace the cable that they had their cable replaced by Hyundai and it stopped working again a month or so later.
I saw that. That's the only time I've heard of it not working after a fix.

So far so good on mine, but if it messes up again I'm going to go the Noalox route next.

Yes …. Every-time my son’s vehicle hits a bump the MUSIC stops playing or the cell phone stop charging & it restarts later ….. i reported MAXON SERVICE CENTER…. but they stated they didn’t see the problem…….
Dealer just did a second nav update, no new hardware installed. Two days later and no cutting out yet; fingers crossed.
