I received my AWD at the start of October from an order placed in May. I don't think there's many non-P45 AWD over here yet though, the majority being built seem to be RWD. If yours is built and just awaiting the VIN allocation it shouldn't be too long.

REALLY!!!! - Honestly, Change Dealers - All the I5s been made so far have come direct from Korea (with the possibility of also being made in the US in a couple of years)

 

I placed an order for a Premium 58 at the start of September and was told yesterday that it has just arrived in the country. I’m hoping to get my grubby hands on it in the next 2 weeks.

 

Yeah I was surprised that they said mine has been built as as you say, it seems they’re focusing on the RWD. If mine is still in the factory, shipping from Korea is surely 3-4 weeks?

 

I would say more like 6-8 weeks from my own experience. If you get it this side of Christmas you'll have done well TBH.

I ordered an AWD Ultimate + Heat pump towards the end of July. The last update I had was it should be in the UK middle of Nov and ready the first week of Dec? No benefit in getting out of shape, my 3yo Skoda seems to be going up in value every month

 

Someone shared the latest ship status update the other day - anyone have that? My dealer reckons 6th November into port but doesn’t look like any ships due into Tilbury that day

From a video of the manufacturing process, I believe the VIN is engraved onto the Power Electric System (motor, et al.). See video linked below, Ioniq 5 Production Process, at about 1 minute. So if it is manufactured it has a VIN.

I think you're right. The published schedules are always going be affected by weather etc.

 

I read an article the other day which said that the majority of normal car purchasers would not wait more than 10-12 weeks for the delivery of a car.

I have a sneeking suspicion that Hyundai is relying heavily on this to help keep the carrot dangling in front of the donkey for the sake of their order book numbers.

 

No AWD or Ultimates. The Ultimate they offered me was another one a customer had cancelled on, due in mid-December with both packs on.

I have an awd ultimate on order. Saw screenshot from dealer. It was shipped 10/10 should be docking 20/11. Then between the jigs and the reels should be at the dealers 3/12. So hopefully 10th Dec to me.

I called around a few dealers this morning. All in agreement that there is a problem with the AWD ultimate and they don’t expect most of them until April. Most premiums landing between now and January.

 

I had an update today. My AWD is still sitting in the factory as it has been for a month. Seems major shipping issues and I’ll be lucky to get it this year.

 

That sucks, I hope my Jan timeline is still viable.

My ultimate awd was supposed to be built on the weekend and on a boat already. Somehow I doubt that's the case.

 

Probably not. When did you order? I’m a bit annoyed to be honest. I was told October and we’re talking 8 weeks even if it was sent on a boat tomorrow.

 

I ordered an Ultimate RWD on 20 August, delivery was indicated as early December on Hyundai's system. Since then it's now slipped to January arrival in the UK. The dealers have no secret info, they will tell you what the database indicates, and everything is an estimate until the VIN is allocated. My dealer is a friend, he shows me the screen every time I ask, and the delays are clearly within Hyundai manufacturing. They send a boat from Ulsan every week to the UK, so cars are being shipped.

 

Agree. The annoying part is that my car has been built for a month and is sitting around.

 

I'd hoped that mine would make it into the Morning Lynn that departed 1/11 after finishing build 30/10. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. It now has a confirmed build date of this week and is expected at the dealer 10/1. I can't see any shipping schedule for the end of the year so I'm not sure what ship that would put it on. TBF this is still consistent with what I was told at point of order.

 

Mines been built for a month so I assume there is a huge shipping backlog. Are future shipping dates logged online? They always seem to use the same company.

 

I'm not clear on why the EUKOR schedule doesn't show any more sailings this year. There are a heck of a lot of ships in the car transporter fleet. It's really odd that yours is confirmed built but hasn't made it onto a ship. They're not saying mine is built.
