That's awesome, can you link us to a report on the progress? Here in California, the largest ev market in the country by a huge margin, they've made zero progress past two and several YouTubers have reported stagnation on the east coast so this would be great news!I think the writing was on the wall. The Gov wanted to make charging more accessible and Tesla is the leader there. Tesla made the NASC adapter open for anyone to use and now we have Ford going there. I suspect other manufacturers will go that route as well.
Tesla is however installing more and more of the superchargers with conversion kits for J1772/CCS. Right now on the east coast it is in NY state and expanding from there.
You can actually see on the Tesla app. But will try and find a map to show...That's awesome, can you link us to a report on the progress? Actually, it's not. Tesla supercharger prices are in general competitive to, or cheaper than regular EA rates. You can also pay a small monthly fee and pay regular Tesla prices which are significantly cheaper than regular EA rates. We are talking, in my area, difference between around $.26 per kwh Tesla, versus $.46 for EA.Sound like a monopoly to me. Why use a Tesla Supercharger which is more expensive then EA or any other CCS charger?
Yes, Tesla started in Europe first. They just started in the United States and majority of their dual charging stations are in NY state. Keep in mind, Tesla is still testing this concept and basically retrofitted the existing chargers to add the new dock. Thanks for the link.
Wow, there are a total of two locations in California with CCS connectors.
But check out Europe! There are a lot.
Actually, in my area, EA monthly charge is $4.00/ month for $0.36 kWh (Tesla $12.99/ month for $0.40 kWh), without monthly plans: EA $0.48 kWh (Tesla $0.50 kWh). In northeast Ohio.Actually, it's not. So check the Tesla app, odds are those are peak hours. Tesla charges different rates throughout the day. =)Actually, in my area, EA monthly charge is $4.00/ month for $0.36 kWh (Tesla $12.99/ month for $0.40 kWh), without monthly plans: EA $0.48 kWh (Tesla $0.50 kWh). In northeast Ohio.
Interesting, I read an email that was saying with membership people would pay Tesla owner rates... unless that supercharger is super expensive, that rate seems high, or definitely the peak rate. but hey, it is better than nothing!Yes, I do have the Tesla app and I travel allot to Niagara Falls and hopefully Tesla in Fredonia, NY will open to Ioniq 5 soon.

Tesla started opening SuperChargers to other cars in Europe first because they use the same standards as the rest of the world outside the US - so it's more coding the network to allow plug and plan of other cars, vs retrofitting superchargers here as they went with their own option to build a walled garden and for costs (aluminum interconnects are way cheaper than copper inside the car).Yes, Tesla started in Europe first.
It's the option of using any charger really. Current fords can plug into a CCS charger or they'll be able to buy the Tesla supercharger retrofit CCS adapter next year. For Americans not in big progressive hubs with tons of wonderful EV charging often Tesla is the only option for rapid charging.Sound like a monopoly to me.
