If anyone has figured out how to make that work with the CCNC cars (e.g. 2025 I5), they haven't shared it here, that I've seen.

 

Thanks for the info. Looks like that capability got lost amid the ccNC "improvements." Perhaps they'll program it back in with an update; I'd like to have the option to split the CarPlay screen from time to time.

 

Yep. It's gone. I hate that!

When I'm using the built in maps, the "split screen" appears to float like a window on a computer screen rather than be a separate screen to the side. I wonder if they just never worked out how to do that with phone projection. I'd hoped that iOS26 would alleviate that, but it didn't.

As a workaround, I have the favorites button on the steering wheel set to CarPlay and I can toggle back & forth between that and the maps button under the infotainment screen if I want to see what's going on.
