What's a "puddle light"?

 

Basically a light that turns on when you unlock the door so that it shines down on the ground to let you see what if there is a puddle or other stuff you don't want to step on

 

My 2018 Tesla Model 3 had puddle lights, though they were so dim as to be useless. Replacing the bulbs with brighter ones helped a lot, and this became a useful feature. But yeah, no such lighting on our Ioniqs.

 

Shouldn't be hard to retrofit some but may need to run wires to the dome fuse.

 

Plenty to choose from on Amazon. Tempting, but we don't drive at night all that much. Plus, the interior lights in the car light up the outside of the car enough for us.

 

I have the fully loaded Canadian Ultimate trim.

Googling indicates that no Ioniq 6 model in the world has puddle lights; however, my photo shows that maybe Hyundai was thinking of putting a puddle light in the side mirrors?

It is ashamed that this car has no mirror puddle lights, door puddle lights, or illuminated door sills.

Or you can use your headlights to see how to park and do so such that the puddle or "other stuff" is on the passenger side. 😁😁😁
