Yesterday I had a service required in 29 days reminder pop up in the display.
That would make a service due about 15th February.

Car was first registered 31st March 2018 and was the dealer's demonstrator. I bought it mid August. It now has 4500 miles on the clock.

I expected to need a service in March. Anyone know why it might have chosen mid February?

it normally does it based on distance or time since started

normally I think as part of PDI they reset this counter, mine was set to the equiv of 15k kilometres

there are menus in the dash that you can see how long to next service

At least on mine, you can also configure this yourself.

I had a look at the interval in settings
It’s says 5470 miles and 28 days
Perhaps it was set at 6 months when I bought it in mid August

I rang the dealer who told me that my first service is actually due at 20K miles or March 2020!!

They said if I pop in, they'll reset the counter

I’m surprised the first service can wait that long!

20K?

I wasn't aware any of the new Ioniq had a different service schedule ???
I’d have said 10,000 miles or 12 months. For a March 2018 EV

Even the Hyundai website says annually

I’ll have to ring them again I think.

Am I just blanking out on finding the setting to change the interval or did this get locked into 3700 miles on my recent service visit? I only got a BMS update and no SW/FW updates and believe I was able to edit it for 7500 myself back when.

On mine it is In the System Settings:
  • Driving Assist
  • Door
  • Lights
  • Sound
  • Convenience
  • Service Interval
  • Other Features
  • Reset
Service Interval
To activate or deactivate the service interval function.
If the service interval menu is activated, you may adjust the time and distance.

Information
To use the service interval menu, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

[Maybe your dealer activates and deactivates the menu to set it when you bring it in.]

If the service interval is activated and the time and distance is adjusted, messages are displayed in the following situations each time the vehicle is turned on.
  • Service in
    • Displayed to inform the driver the remaining kilometer and days to service.
  • Service required
    • Displayed when the kilometer and days to service has been reached or passed.

Thank you much for the walk-through, @ds093. I actually had not changed this prior, just reset. Dealer changed from 7500 to 3700. Back to 12 months or 7500 now.
