P0471 - Exhaust pressure sensor

Hi everyone, this topic may by my last resort as I have a problem that nobody can solve.
I bought the Ioniq PHEV in 2020, 3 years in, all great but end of 2023 a check engine light came, exactly P0471 - Exhaust pressure sensor.

After one and a half year multiple dealers could not solve this problem. After coming to the service, the light comes after an hour of driving. In other words immediately.
From the technical point of view what has been already replaced:
  • The pressure sensor itself, replaced 3 times
  • EGR Valve
  • Oxygen sensors
  • Catalytic converter
  • Half of the exhaust system
  • ECU (Engine) Update was done
  • Electrical system was checked already by at least 3 technicians

CEL is still on, warranty is ending and the car has no other symptoms than this light that is always on.

I tried to contact Hyundai on their website but I got an automatic reply to go to another dealer.

First 3 years the car was perfect but now I am not happy with the service that the manufacturer provide. What is wrong with this engine?

Post service tickets
So I got one list with another hopefully coming soon. As I was told there are two different types of warranty repairs and not all of them are written on the list. Something like a single sensor swap does not have a ticket number. Anyway on the photo below there are 3 last cases registered at Hyundai. First from the top says "Catalytic converter replaced", other are not so well described for a customer. Maybe with a ticket number one can get more info.

Something like "I don't know, it is difficult" would be enough instead of disappearing.
For all the people from around the world and this forum as well, here's the solution:

You need to replace both:
1. EGR Valve
2. EGR Cooler

Not one, both. Ask the dealers about that repeatedly until they replace it to get rid of the P0471 Check engine error

There is absolutely no requirement for him to respond at all. As @GregBrew said, he's a forum user just like all of us. He has a life outside of the internet, he can come and go just as easily as you can.

It sounds like you got your issue resolved, that's awesome. It would be odd for a dealership to ignore replacing both the valve and the cooler if it's known to fix the issue, but good information for those who need it.
