I bought front and rear door speakers that will be here later today and I hope to do the install today or tomorrow. I can post an update here when I do.

Thanks for for the info on the tweeters, I’ll have to add them to my buy list.

No problem, so far the Tweeters have made the largest improvement, and now the system is tolerable.

@Theblackstig Thanks for doing those videos! They are extremely helpful. Just picked up my Six last week and noticed how bad the sound is. After playing with the tone settings, I actually though something was off/broken with the signal/amp. I have the Bose system but it's pretty bad and also very low volume. Ordered a set of Polk 2 way's for the rear door and, coincidentally, the same tweeters as you. Arrived yesterday so I will endeavour the tweeter install this weekend if the rain stops. Now I know they will fit 🙏 to you! I'm curious if the ohm rating on the Bose system will create issues or not. Hoping for better sound and more volume. Will post results and wait on the rears until you make a video for that install. Thanks in advance for that.

Looking fwd to being part of the forum. Cheers

Be sure to check the polarity of speakers wires on the car side.

How did you change the polarity of the speaker plug adapter? Or did you just plug in as is?

Plugged it in normally on the car side and essentially hooked it up backwards to the speakers which made it right

Ah okay, the adapter I bought has keyed plugs on the speaker side, so i would need to cut and rewire them.

I did check out the rear speakers and they look to be 5 1/4". The Metra 82-5605 adapter from the front doors won't fit the rear. Crutchfield has the Scosche SAKA-656 for the IONIQ 5, so I'm guessing it'll be the same.

I had female spade terminals, so I just switched the ends on them.

Yup that's what I figure too.
Also the Scosche adapter will fit a 6.5" speaker.

Have you confirmed the Hertz CX 165 fits on the Scosche? I was checking and the Scosche may not have a large enough opening for the CX 165.

I also forgot to mention, but the rear speaker plug I believe is the same as the front. I was more focused on getting dimensions so I forgot to really look at it.
Good Morning!

Can anyone tell if the annoying beeping (e.g. when recognizing a speed limit) is coming from the speakers or maybe from a sound module?

Greetings from Austria.

Probably all the speakers since it mutes the volume

No but I have the adapters and I can measure when I get back home.

The of diameter Scosche bracket is over 5.5" the diameter of the Hertz cx 165 is 5.59" so it should fit perfectly.

My brackets should arrive Tuesday, so I can test the fit. Crossing my fingers, otherwise it’s a switch to the CX 130 or a different brand 6 1/2” speaker.

Awesome mine along with my amp should be here by the end of the week!
@Theblackstig I just pulled my front pillars for replacing the tweeters and I got swapped polarities on my right tweeter. I tried plugging in each OEM tweeter and they dont seem affected by the polarity switch. Does it matter which leg the capacitor/filter is on?

The speaker will always work no matter the polarity. But if you wire one correctly and others incorrectly the other will play out of phase i.e. backwards. And it will kind of sound like your in a stadium.

I'm not sure how much you know about sound, but if a speaker is hooked up backwards the speaker cone will suck in instead of pushing out but as long as all the speakers are hooked up the same it won't matter as much.

Here are some good videos to watch

Thanks for all the info. I trusted my multimeter readings and wired the tweeters up accordingly. Just put everything back in and the sound is coming through much clearer.

Next in line are the all the door speakers.
