Any link to announcements? I thought it was already available through BlueLink.
I had such a feature with OnStar on my Bolt, the idea is OnStar would detect airbags or collisions through sensors in the car and call you to see if you needed assistance. They would be able to contact local first responders and provide your precise location, much as using a mobile phone to call 911. I don't think there is any additional personal data tracking for services like this if BlueLink is basically using the same approach.
