And how many petrol vehicles caught fire in the same period so the risk can be put in perspective.
Not sure such a number would put anything in perspective. After all, there are like a hundred times more ICE vehicles that BEVs.

Not sure how you could gather and sort such data but collecting ICE versus BEV fires for cars less than say three years old might shed some light on whether the risk of owning a BEV is higher than an ICE car. There certainly are lots of reports of cell phone and laptops catching fire so it is not that surprising that a larger battery device is also reported to catch fire. A bit extra disturbing in a car with active fluid battery temperature control like the Kona though.
