Keyfob remote start parameters

My experience has been that it starts the car and whatever climate settings you had on when it was turned off. (Not the seat or steering wheel heaters, though.)

The process that works for me to get it started from the FOB is:
  1. Click the Lock button.
  2. Click and hold the Start button (the clockwise circular arrow with HOLD next to it) for several seconds, until the blinkers blink 3 times.

This probably takes about 15 seconds total, but works consistently for me.
Sounds right to me. I use it to pre start the climate semi-regularly as I approach the car. Two caveats: 1) the key fob range is so-so, maybe 100ft? 2) it does not work while the car is plugged in even though the app climate start does work while plugged in.

You don't want it to work when plugged in, as you have started the car, and it's ready to drive off....
I use this sometimes, but mostly used to move the car in ir out of tight parking spaces.
Except that’s not how it works while plugged in. If I have the car turned on and then plug in or start the car while plugged in (DCFC or L2) then unplug and try to put it in drive it will not shift into drive until I reboot it by putting foot on the brake and pressing the Start/Stop power button on the dash board. I would have expected that program to override the key fob remote start ready to run program.

On a related note of odd programming for restarts: when in Utility mode and trying to go into drive I also have to reboot but it takes an additional step of fully turning the car off by pushing the power button with no foot on pedal before putting foot on brake and pushing the power button a second time. Why can’t these two modes have the same reboot procedure?
