Just had my first issue (actually, 2 issues)

Nearly 2 years into ownership of my 2024 IONIQ 6, and I just had my first set of issues pop up.

Someone texting at a stoplight in front of me oblivious to the green light...requires a reminder to get moving. Naturally, I tried to honk the horn. No horn available. Damn.

Then I also noticed my red airbag light stays on. Well, that's not good.

Took it to the dealership and they said everything needs to be replaced. They said this is a known common problem. Back-order is 3 weeks.

Anyway, just a quick post. Overall, my IONIQ 6 has been worry-free until now.

I've been through 4 horn replacements in less 2 years. Don't be surprised if it happens again. They will keep installing the same defective designed horn. O would report it yo your local Transportation Authority as it is a safety issue.

I haven't heard of the airbag issue on forums.

In 26k miles I had never had to honk the horn. I used it the other day and I'm not sure if it's broken or if it's supposed to sound pathetic. It was embarrassingly cheap and weak sounding. Are these things able to be changed out to a better wounding one?!

There are 2 horns that make up the sound; a low frequency and a high frequency horn. Its likely the low frequency horn went kaput. and that's why it sound "cheap". There are many 3rd party horns available but it will be your cost and installation, dealer will not install aftermarket products but they will replace current horns for free under warranty.
