Put simply, the car will not let you do it. Drive-by-wire means the car has it's own brain, that keeps the human brain in check!
For example, the reverse button only becomes active when the car is stopped.
You should always be able to get in to neutral whilst moving, just not out of it. My Golf let's you get out of neutral back in to drive as long as engine speed and road speed are close enough.
No - I can shift from reverse to park without braking, and even if the car is rolling slightly. It makes parking a little more fluid, which I appreciate
The only thing you need to remember is before shifting from reverse or drive to P bring the car to a full stop. Because of the double clutch the transmission wil no be damaged shifting at speeds < 1km but its not recommended.
my Honda Insight hybrid has a push-button shift, where you have to drag the REVERSE button toward the back of the car. Clever. Idiot proof, compared to other shifters.
