My SEL has the plug. I used the technique in this video and got it done in less than an hour, taking my time. I used plastic trim tools from harbor freight to help.

This! I want to add front accent LED lights to my SE, but even if the cable exists to attach the light bars, I am not sure if power will go to the lights when I turn on the car (not sure when the light bar turns on).

I suppose you could get the wiring harness. It terminates in a 4-pin trailer connection. maybe one of those leads would power the LEDs you desire. I'm not, in any way, suggesting you try but it's an idea.
